I'm arriving in Largo tonight, and staying till the end of the month. I'm leaving with a empty trailer [open 18 foot flatbed with a winch]. I'll be going back to Kansas and stopping to pick up a small tractor in Brooklyn, Iowa along the way. I'll be going empty up I-75 to Atlanta, thru Nashville, then Paducah, thru Mount Vernon and so on till I reach I-80, so if anybody needs anything hauled along the way, keep me in mind? Rates will be way cheaper then commercial and if I can help someone out just let me know? Call 785-626-7736 or 785-513-1220, Thanks, Larry.

If you are not busy Saturday, there is a great car show in the county park next to my house - in John Chesnut Park, off East Lake Road (called McMullen Booth Rd south of Tampa Rd). They get about 200 or more cars.

Wheelz, I've got a house here on Keene Rd. it's a busy 4-lane between Gulf To Bay and Roosevelt. I've owned it since 2015, but this is only the 5th or 6th time I've been here!! When I get here, it's usually balls to the walls to get projects done, make upgrades, keep the wife happy. etc. etc. We have a family friend who takes care of the house and gets to live here REAL CHEAP, and someday real soon I'll be staying down here in "retirement mode" hopefully in a year or two. Larry.

That sounds good, I wonder how far away that is from Keene Rd. LARGO? Whenever I drive down here from Kansas. [every one to two years] it takes me awhile to get acclimated to all the crazy driving and major roadways. But when I finally leave I've got the area down pat and have a good idea on how to get around. Larry.

Gulf to Bay is SR 60. Go east on 60 to McMullen Booth, then north. After you cross Tampa Rd (you'll go over it),about 2 miles north is the park entrance on the left. They will likely have a portable sign advertising the show. The left into the park is just before Sandy Point Road (where there is a traffic light). Given the traffic, it is probably a 25-30 minute ride. Just put John Chesnut (not Chestnut) Park in your phone.

FWIW...First Monday of each month, (if not on a holiday weekend!) Skylark Drive Buick Club, Florida West Coast Chapter GSCA, meeting 6;30 at Cracker Barrel Ulmerton Road end of ST Pete Clearwater airport. Usually 10-15 guys show up. Good times!
However, May meeting is cancelled but will resume June 3rd, after GS NATS! Lots to chat a bout!!! C'mon and join us!!

    • Hey Wheelz, thanks for the offer but I'll probably be back in Kansas next week sometime after we get our back porch enclosed in our future retirement house. That's 'Cool' theirs' a group of you Buick guy's that gets together once a month for meetings and such. I remember when a group of us started the Rocky Mountain GS Chapter back in 1988. We held it at Deane Buick in the south part of Denver. I was always the long distance driver, making the drive from Loveland [up north] to the Thursday night meetings every month. My job at the time gave me the flexibility to take Thursday off, so I'd pack the tools and a lunch and head to all the Pick-a-Parts yards in Denver at the time. I'd spend all day finding Chrome Rallye wheels on Skylarks [5+10 bucks each] rust-free fenders, doors, trunk-lids, nice bumpers, interior parts, tilt wheels, an occasional 'GS hood' and other GS parts. Yes, those where some fun times and then I'd show up to the meetings with my hoard of new found parts, and then it was show-and-tell time. Most of my parts ending up going to the Nationals after I kept what I needed for my projects at that time. I sold parts at the Nats. in 1985,1986 and 1990 thru 2001. My Dad was with me a lot of those years. Those years I'll never forget. Larry.
