Anyone running 18x8 in the rear of a 67 GS or skykark?

I have some 18x8 in the rear and the tire is getting chewed up on the rear passenger side.

I am running 275 40 18 Firehawk Indy tires in the rear.

    Torq Thrust 2 18x8 with 4.5 backspacing

Anyone have an 18 inch wheel combo that works? I might have to go with 17's

The wheel diameter has nothing to do with it. On any 8" wide wheel, the back spacing needs to be at least 5" for the Buick A bodies prior to 1969.

Tire is getting chewed up at the top of the face of the tire(12 o clock).

The Previous owner appears to have cut slits and then rolled/ folded the lip up.

I might be able to trim it more but I dont want to loose the ability to add the wheel chrome trim.

I removed it since I didn't want to damage it

True, won't change much of the tire position/ height.

I didn't see any of these wheels with the 5" backspace. Might have to go with a different wheel or see if they American Racing can make some.

It looks like they only offer 18x9 in 5" backspace.

17x8 has more options for backspace.

I might have to sell my set and order a new one

I went with 17’s and so did a friend, but 18’s should work.

18's will work with the proper back spacing.
