I get the USPS saying they attempted delivery but no answer. They are lying because I have a doorbell camera and NOBODY even came on the property, let alone came to the door. The postmaster doesn't care. They are unaccountable for lying.
Overall I haven't had many significant issues with the major shippers. I have received boxes that looked like they had been run over by a truck, but the stuff inside was OK. My only problem with the shippers is driver stupidity. Just recently one of them - I think it was Fed Ex, left a package at the end of my driveway which is north of 100 feet from my house, and not visible from my house. Another of my favorites was when one of the shippers (not the USPS) left a set of four new unwrapped Michelins at the mailbox at the curb. This was in Massachusetts on a busy street. I found them before the thieves did. Miracles do happen.
Back in the 80’s, I ordered a set of wheels & tires (mounted & balanced) and when UPS delivered them it looked like the driver just rolled them out of the truck into my front yard. They were all over the front & side yard.
I haven't had a problem with any of them but the last two deliveries by FedEx were left in front of my garage door. I open my door, look in my mirror and back out. Luckily, both times I had to go outside for something and saw them.
I have instructed the drivers to leave packages at the garage door. When I am going out, I walk through the garage; packages left at the front door could sit there for days before I would find them.
fedex is by far the most professional service I have used. for standard packages and ltl freight as well. US Postal service is terrible. and yet I still use them based on cost and accessibility. I have been considering going to Fedex for everything.....
Other then them nine days to get a Christmas card from Florida to Massachusetts in 2022 I haven't had many problems with USPS.
