I’m replacing the deck lid on my 66 special with a different/rust free one but to my surprise it doesn’t have the trim piece on it and doesn’t appear to have ever had it. Is this common? If it needs it I’ll buy one from somebody(mine is junk) but if not required I’ll keep on getting it ready for paint!
The base Special didn't have trunk lid chrome unless it was ordered with the trim package. Step up to a Special Deluxe or Skylark and it was included.
Thanks. I couldn’t remember ever seeing one without it. To match my tail light chrome I may have to find a good one though. Mine was okay until I attempted removing it from my old deck lid. Every insert spun and messed up the trim.
