Like everyone else, I waited till the last minute to get ready for the Nationals. I got new trailer tires for my boat trailer. I recarpeted the front deck on the boat, the backseat, and the side panels. I still have to install them. I got new flooring for the boat. Now I am sanding teak wood. I’m pretty sure I’ll be ready in time. I don’t call myself Waterboy because of the movie. I love boating!
My car? I’m driving it up to Bowling Green this year because I have places to go when I leave there. So it won’t be trailered up there behind my son’s truck. I need to change the oil, got a new front tire coming from Amazon today, get a front end alignment, and I’m ready. :)> 91D9270F-64B1-4895-94ED-1AF6D064C460.jpeg 7D2A70FB-8071-4B38-854B-1F69249E644D.jpeg 7528034A-B3DE-45C2-9499-265DEEF8BE6B.jpeg

Talk about multitasking. Got my new left front tire. Unlike BF Goodrich tires, I’ll bet when I wash the blue off of the white wall it will be white underneath. One check in the box.
Fred, I always wanted to take a boat ride in the barren river. You know there’s a couple boat ramps in the campground? 5A9EE5B8-2F70-4E57-9B31-8FE33458E0FC.jpeg

I remember that year Patrick. I believe John Everett went and helped big time getting the track back in shape for old man Dallas.

This year I’m going to try and emulate this guy. Actually I got this bottle of beer up in Ohio when my wife and I went to go see the solar eclipse. The maid of honor in our wedding, her husband, has a beer distributor ship and got me this bottle. A very cool bottle. I would put it on my dashboard when I’m racing but I think it’s a little big? 4FAFCB64-0F41-4798-AB10-5714A477E989.jpeg

I’ve got the little skinny 205/75/14 inch tires in the front because they don’t sell the 215/75/14 inch white wall tires anymore. Bummer. I think they will make me go faster?

I'm at the extreme end of the last minute camp. My 77 LeSabre still needs the dash harness repaired and reinstalled. I'd also like to swap valve covers and install a TA SP1 intake. I think I'll stick with the quadrajet but might bring a 750 dp to test since it is a square bore intake. I know Briz made a few bottom 14 passes last year, I'd love to see this big Buick run a 13 second pass.

My 67 GS400 runs and drives just fine right now, but the rear posi is super tired. I have everything to rebuild the BOP 8.2 and go from 2.93s to 3.55s. I also want to swap to the ST300 converter. I really want a 13 this year haha.

My brother will be driving the 77 down and the plan is to camp out again. It was a blast last year.

Air the fronts up to 50psi to cut rolling resistance.

Patrick, you crack me up buddy! Just air up the front tires? I think I should air up all four skinny tires for less rolling resistance!
Steve’s new camper… he bought it on the way down to my house for the Buick get together. It is very nice! He’s going to make me jealous sleeping in my tent and taking over my favorite pavilion!

Oh wow, this is my thread. I was going to post a thread about what I did to my car today, but I just realized I’m in the right place.
We had the grandkids today because my son and his wife went to Boca bash. Look it up on YouTube. If you’re a guy you will definitely like the videos. Not my son’s videos, just everybody else. So I stayed home with my wife and we watched the kids, which is actually pretty fun. Grandson hung out with me while I drained the oil out of the car. I really wanted a new nylon gasket for the oil pan plug, but there were idiots running the store. I’ll go back tomorrow when the manager is there. He knows right where the part is I need. So it really wasn’t leaking that bad and I put the old nylon washer back on the plug and filled it back up with oil. One checkmark. Then I looked for my oil leak. I was pretty sure my passenger side valve cover was leaking because there was oil all over the starter. When I finished changing the oil I took a look. Oh yeah. I snugged them up but I don’t know if it will work. They were pretty loose for some reason. So I need to clean up the oily mess so I can see if I fixed what I think I fixed. Probably get some scrubbing bubbles. Believe me, it actually works really good on oil, and it cleans up the entire engine compartment. Spray it on, let it sit a bit, spray it with water, and hit it with the electric blower to dry it. Nice and clean. Right now it’s quarter after nine and I still have energy. So I’m going to change the back speakers in the car. I got some kicker 6 x 9 speakers for the back, and I bought new kick panels that came with Kicker 6 1/2 inch speakers. I have a pretty good amplifier I’m putting in the trunk. I’ll have a very nice ride up to Bowling Green!

I got the rear speakers out. I must say it was a lot easier when I was 16 years old to crawl inside the trunk. At least I had a nice harbor freight moving blanket to lay on. Once I got in there it was quite comfortable. So I dropped the speakers down and I got a little surprise. They are not Pioneer speakers. They are Cerwin-Vega speakers. Interesting? So somebody put the speakers in but used the pioneer covers. Looks like I could sell them on eBay, but they are definitely not new. They are in very nice shape though. 50C2CC5C-BAD8-464D-A738-D59A6BA747FB.jpeg 8CC7F1FA-3734-4AF0-A4D7-CEA562A78FEA.png

This update is brought to you by a delicious lunch break. Wednesday seems to be a powerful day. I made an appointment for my car to get an alignment being I have new front tires now. The car is at the shop as I speak getting an alignment. I called up the boat dealership and asked about buying a new 60 hp Suzuki outboard engine. He gave me an appointment date of next Wednesday. Oh ****! I got a lot of work to do on my boat. The first problem is the person I got the boat off of, boy is that a story, had a 1984 engine on it that must’ve been a short shaft engine. So they put a jack plate on the back of the boat so the engine would reach the water. They also cut about 3 inches out of the top of the transom so the engine would tilt while trailering it. Pretty much most engines are 20 inch shaft engines nowadays. The jack plate wouldn’t adjust high enough for 20 inches, and the 3 inches taken out of the top of the transom screwed me out of having a 20 inch transom. So today I took the Jack played off, cleaned up all the 5200 calk all over the place, and I am re-mounting it approximately 3 inches higher. Still cleaning oxidation off of the aluminum as I speak. I think I’ll have the boat ready by next Wednesday.
Yesterday I installed the new 450 watt 6 x 9 speakers in the back deck of the car. I had to do a little cutting on the back deck with my saws all, but everything fits great now. And I worked on getting the front kick panels out. I have new kick panels that hold 6 1/2 inch speakers. I painted the new kick panels with some SEM interior paint. They came out really well. I would’ve hooked them up today but the car is at the alignment shop. That’s it for now. Plenty to do and very little time. Work, work, work!
