They are dismissing schools early today due to bad weather. Hail is predicted. It was 14 years ago on May 4, 2010, that Beech Bend was under water.

Here's to hoping it gets it out of the atmosphere now and next week is gloriously clear!

That's a lot of freaking water.

I don't care if we end up sitting in the parking lot of the hotels for 4 days...I'm going!

We all remember the "blown" forecasts, but the actual facts are that a NOAA 7-day weather forecast is correct about 80% of the time; a five-day forecast is about 90% correct, but when you go to 10-days out, the accuracy is only about 50/50.

Bowling Green is always a crap shoot in May. I've walked the car show with a golf umbrella over my head and will probably do it again some day. If you're a genuine Buick man, you go. But, I'll say a prayer to whomever mother nature listens to just in case.

I remember the flood and the year it hailed a week prior to the nats. People were driving their cars in the rain with no glass because they couldn’t get glass fast enough. A gal was at a light next to us in the rain with no t tops or glass in the car. Pdr and glass guys were working out of mobile trailers on every corner.

Yep, I was lucky and had the day off. They brought 18 wheelers in and loaded up whole car dealerships. My insurance company setup a mobile estimate and check writing station at one of the hotels. Drove in, showed my insurance card and had a check in 20 minutes.

Yeah one year with hail, people were taking mattresses out of their motel rooms to cover their cars. It looked like someone ran around with a sledge hammer hitting cars. Crazy......

Well....i have be told i need to delete this post because i am going to scare people away from coming.....this will be my 40th GS Nationals and i have been there in May often enough......several years that were basically rain outs.......but a weather forecast never stopped me :D

I will take this thread down tomorrow but i know this post will never stop the true Buick brothers and sisters from coming !

    Peace WildBill

Yeah....i had TOPCAT there that year and when they forecast hail i went and bought 4 big thick bed comforters and put them under my car cover.....luckily the hail did not come that night.

Others that may have a dog in the race.......I for one enjoy reading what goes on at BG. Be it the good or the bad.
The weather has always played a factor at BG. How folks deal with it is a good read...

If I could drive my car around in the shower with the windows down, I would do it.

A bad day driving a Buick is better than a good day wishing I did.

not sure why someone wants this taken down.. the weather looked awful last week, but had improved dramatically.

    Yes, dramatically!

EDIT: Looks even better today than it did yesterday.

Anyone who doesn't show b/c of the weather @ this point is looking for an excuse not to go.
