Hi- I have a 1969 Special Deluxe but I’d assume the same question holds true for the Skylark/GS too...

How exactly are my inner headlights supposed to operate? I have 4 headlights, but only my outer 2 function (as normal headlights and also brights via my foot switch). I checked the inner set of lights (more toward the grill) and they’re still wired up. I guess I could swap the wires inner to outer and see if it’s just a set of bad bulbs, but the car is sitting down in my storage building and well, I guess I’m just curious how they “should” operate.

    Thanks for any help!

Using the foot switch, all 4 headlights should light up when the "brights" are on. When off, only the outers are on.

Outers should be three prong (hi and low beam), inners should be 2 prong (high beam only), Check your wiring and bulbs.

Thanks! I figured it would be something like that. At least now I know how to make them correct! Appreciate the responses.

Lol... “brights”. It’s funny the slang you pick up as a kid that pops back into your everyday “technical” vocabulary years later. Haha. Now I realize how my high beams should work!
