Didn't one of these show up at the Nats 3 years ago? I remember it being a nice driver quality with darker blue paint and black interior and not many options. It was up toward the fence across the entry road from the circle track wall. Dan

Amazing what you might find when you do a google search on your own name.... Sorry for the delay guys. Yes, I had a blue 69 Stage 1 4-speed car, that went to Hanover. You guys have already traced that one.
One of the others was a real 69 GS400 that had a rear wing, front spoiler, and a GSX paint job. It eventually tried to eat an apple tree. Moral of the story, don't EVER loan your car to anyone! I'll dig up some old pics.
I still have my first car, a 68 GS400 that was bought from the original owner in 1981 when I was a junior in high school.

I'll try to stop by more often now that I remember being here before. It's like deja vu all over again...

Eldon, what a trip. You remember me and my friend John came out from Jersey and took the Stage 1 for a cruise with the top down? I tried buddy but too many irons in the fire. Seeing as a 69 GS 4 speed hardtop just went for 91K at Mecum, I should have ponied up the 8K for you. Oh well, I'm happy with my beast. I think I made the right move, but it would have been nice to have. I did use the trunk lid I bought from you. :)

Oh, and I really like your 68. I remember something about the rocker stripe being a big deal when we were there. Like it was either NOS or it was a new repro or something.

In 1985 a Member of the Northeast Ohio BCA bought a 69 Stage 1 ragtop 4 speed parts car to go with his 69 GS 400 ragtop 4 speed. Stage car was Diplomat, black top, black bench. 400 car was Aquamist, black bucket, black top. Neither had air. He sold them as a package deal for $11k in 2000--2001.(Somewhere around that time frame.) Haven't seen or heard of either since then.

What's with the "group" is this something like that (1989) skin deep movie John Ritter made?

If I'm not mistaken, I will be seeing this car in person in the next few month's when I go to Chicago?

Is that the movie where Ritter and another guy wrestle around in the dark with glow in the dark condoms on? Man that was funny! A white over black S1 4 spd convert sold last year on ebay from right near my house it was a basket case

My bad. I've never owned a 69 and never seen a color chart, so I guess I should have said Dark Blue.
