Assuming they will fit a `71-`72 8.5" Monte Carlo rearend that currently has a 2.73 in it, then I'll take the 3.08 10 bolt gears. Casting number on the Monte housing is 3969277NF. This should help determine if they'll work.
I would make sure that Monte has an 8.5” and not an 8.2”. Chevy and Pontiac did not follow Buick and Oldsmobile when they went to the 8.5” in 1971.
That casting number 3969277 is a 8.2 chevy c-clip rear differential Stock for Chevelle Monte carlo and El camino.
ALL the 3.73 gears are now gone. Might have a couple more in a few housings we have not parted out yet...Will not be for another week till that happens. Jim
Yes - the one set I have left has a small chip on a pinion tooth BUT it is out of the pattern so it will be ok but I want to be upfront in letting people know. pm a email I will send pics If i do not get them up soon... jim
