    I don't think Tom is offended or trying to be offesive. I see his point. You can make anything go fast nowadays being that we have unlimited research options and can network with thousands of others to find out what works and what doesn't instead of trail and error that many go fast guys decades ago went through.

    New cars make this even easier since they are built to be as efficent as possibile and new technologies make power an easy thing to obtain.

    The new Mustangs really are amazing, to be in the 10's in a car you can drive on the street in the same manner as a little 4cyl econo car is really an astonishing feat.

    In the end speed is all relative though and I'm sure everyone here will agree. There will always be a guy faster than you, the trick is trying to be faster than the guy with a car similar to yours. I believe thats where the fun is.

    All the OP was trying to do was show that the new 5.0s are still seen be many as sleepers since the previous generation of mustang GTs went from anemic 14 second quarter miles (again comparatively to other cars of its class) to cracking 12's on just slicks
