Does anyone know how much oil the converter holds or how much does the pan hold. I'm draining the transmission and would prefer not to drain the converter. I'm doing a test to check if my dip stick is correct.
    Thank You

Shop manual only specifies capacity of 10 qts, it does not give pan capacity.

Why not drain the TC? draining the pan only is sorta like taking a shower with your coat on - why bother?

You said the TC drain plugs were rounded off, try a 6 pt socket. If the fluid level is above the full mark, it WILL blow out fluid when you drive it.

    Yep

    It makes an ugly mess.
Be sure you dip stick is reaching as far into the tube as it can.
The retainer on top of the dipstivk can slide upward
