RARE would be A/C. Now that's RARE.

A very pretty car, except for that gawdawful Continental Kit. I doubt it's factory, the Continental had just hit the showrooms again in 1956 the tire hump and that started the craze with the T-Bird getting a Continental kit in 1957 in an effort to boast flagging sales and making up for dismal trunk space. A Continental kit looks great on a T-Bird, and gaudy on just about anything else. A few kit manufacturers got into the picture with retro-fits starting about 1958-59 when the Hot Rodders picked up on the idea.
At any rate, the car is gorgeous, well optioned out, and something I'd be proud to drive (with a small modification, the spare belongs in the trunk) and the kit can be quickly removed.

Correct Marc, except for the early cars with rear mounted spares, Buick has never offered a "continental" kit. The Metropolitan was probably the first to have one after the 39- 48 Continentals, the 56 Thunderbird ushered the flashy continental kit in. The Kelsey Hayes wheels are not correct on it but are regularly seen on them and the color is probably the best possible 56 combination possible. Stunning car, take the diving platform off and good to go.
