Not mine. Local to me, happy to go look for someone. Somebody please buy this so I don't "need" to..... https://missoula.craigslist.org/cto/d/1960-buick-lesabre-2-door/6246683161.html
I'm going to go check this car out for another member today. I'll pm him pics and info first, and if he decides not to take it, I will post what I found out about it then. I think thats the fair way to go about it, since he actually reached out to have me go. Is that what you guys normally do?
I'm really hoping I don't like it as much as I think I'm going to when I get there. I've been avoiding looking at it on purpose. If the other member doesn't like it I may be in trouble......
I'm going to wait until the deal is 100% done or not done, but I'm lucky there's someone else that wants it....
I just wanted to publicly thank Lucas for taking a look at the car for me. His description of the car made me seal the deal. I sent a deposit and will be driving out to Montana in a week to get the car. I'm a Nailhead fan. Building a 55 Chevy Truck with a Nailhead. I've had a few 87 GN's, 63 Riviera, and 67 Skylark. However, I purchased the car for my 72 year old father who just retired in March. He was a GM ASE Tech and eventually service writer in his later days for 50 years. I'm glad to see him retire but, he has been somewhat twiddling his thumbs after working 10 hour days 5-6 days a week for so long. He helped my brother and I restore our cars in high school (68 Camaro and 68 Chevelle). Never purchased anything for himself while raising 4 kids though. Anyway, surprising him with the trip to go get it. I'm sure his plan will be to restore it to original condition. 1960 Buick has always been one of his all time favorites. I have been patiently waiting for the right original car that wasn't "done" or a basket case to come up for sale.
Happy to help! Glad it worked out. For those asking.....the car is super solid. Fired right up cold, no smoke, no misses, no anything. Drove it around town and drives fantastic. All glass is in amazing shape, and absolutely everything down to the radio works as it should. Has one small gash in the passenger quarter and a couple dings here and there, but it's overall a great car. Interior is in really good shape with only major wear on drivers side of the seat cushion and rear package tray has vinyl peeling at edges. Trunk has the original mat. No modifications to the car whatsoever, and only thing that looks new or replaced is the carpet and some maintenance items.
I'm really glad Oliver wanted it. I was having a pretty hard time not making an offer for myself haha.....
Way to go!, Lucas and Oliver. Two good guys looking to make someone a happy man. Oliver, it makes old guys like me feel good to see Sons/Daughters like you who grow up to appreciate all their Parents did for them. Dad and Mom raised a good Son.
