As the title says I need a alternator bracket for a 1963 Buick Skylark 215ci v8 engine Or maybe if someone knows any alternative setups that can be made
DO you have pix you can post? I have several 64-65 300 alt brackets..MAYBE the same? Maybe not? Perhaps someone will jump in here and help out! Wheelz, Tampa Bay
I dont think it will fit, Buick only made this bracket for 1 year and that was for the 63 215 ci engine But I linked the pictures of how it looks like http://i.imgur.com/ADTgR43.png http://i.imgur.com/W4Beten.jpg http://i.imgur.com/cCzHiEz.jpg
You should be able to reuse the gen bracket(s) and buy a generic "f" bracket and install the alternator -- that's how I installed mine anyways -- the 63 bracket isn't necessary unless you're looking to be period or OEM correct. Not sure if I have any good pix presently but could get some later if needed. Just to clarify too, I don't recall where the 63 bracket puts the alternator but the way mine is done the alternator is basically right where the gen was and IIRC even reused the same belt. BTW if you haven't joined us yet you should.... http://skylark616263.forumotion.com/
