Nice car but I am not supposed to comment on the price. Seems steep to me.

It's the leads section - Open season for comments:).

Yes, I suspect it's a lot of money if you look at the book value for a '64 LeSabre wagon. But, if one really liked that car and you "overpaid" for it, you couldn't come close to making one that nice for the $ not even counting the time. All depends on how you look at it. It's kinda like the house that was done too nicely for the neighborhood.

For example, I know we both like '66 Rivs. @JZRIV's car is the best of the best (not sure if he sold it). Even if he'd take ½ of what he's asking there's no '66 Riv. "worth" that much. But, if he would take ½ of what he's asking and if I had the coin to play with, it'd be in my garage now. Only problem w/it is like him, I'd be scared to drive it it think.

Yep exactly. Kind of like that 67 GS. It's worth a mint to that guy but by the time you put all the money into it it's not worth that to anybody else.

Very nice . The wheels and redwalls dress the outside look .
Interior is very rich looking . All that work plus the engine bay
and the detail under the hood surprises me that they didn't
fix the vinyl on the tailgate filler panel .
Yes , it would look great in anyone's garage !!!!

" As a conversation piece I added 1965 GS emblems to the rear quarters, using two sided tape and easily removed. It generates alot of interset and many Buick people actually ask if its real".......

Lol, very "interseting" way to say you aren't a purist. He probably has a mismatch of vendor decals under the hood. I couldn't be bothered to look after that quote.
Edit, ok, I couldn't resist and looked. Incredibly nice car if not pricey, GS emblems still need to go.

OK V8 Buick People: If this car is mechanically sound and everything works and it not worn out it's a great buy. Mitch

Yea Bill, that surprised me too but then so did the 2x4's under the hood!

Yea, the GS emblems would have to go. That was probably the biggest turn off for me.

That '67 may be "worth" what he's asking to someone. But it'd have to be someone who wants that car because of what it is.

Or my '70 GS 350 4-sp., lol. I know I'll be upside down on it. Nobody in their right mind would've even bought it for what I paid let alone re-do it but I have a thing for 350 4-sp.'s (esp. '70), green cars (Seamist w/Sherwood painted top), stripper GS's, & oddball cars & this one scratches all of those itches so to me it was worth buying & even overpaying.

    1964 Buick LeSabre Station Wagon

    Location: Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, 53066
    VIN #: 6K2012555
    Mileage: 46,817
    Transmission: Auto
    Condition: Excellent
    Exterior: Desert Beige
    Interior: Saddle vinyl

    Seller’s Description:
There were a total of 10,250 LeSabre wagons built in 1964 and of that number 6,517 were two seaters like this one. It is built on the Wildcat chassis utilyzing the 401 C.I. "nailhead " V8 engine with the first year used Turbo 400 transmission. Options include factory AC, power steering, power brakes, remote left mirror, all tinted glass, roof rack, rear wind deflector, side trim and the western themed vinyl interior. This was the last year for the full size Buick wagon, until it was reintroduced in 1970. The car has the original owners manual and Protec-o-plate, which appears to show it was sold in North Dakota. After that it went to the San Diego area in CA., where it spent most of its life. From there it was purchased by an individual in Wisconsin who had it about five years and then I bought it from him and I did a full restoration, completed in 2016.

The body on the car never had any serious rust but had some dents and still had the original paint. The body was media blasted and the dents removed. The optional side trim also had some dents, which were removed and the trim refinished in the correct silver color. The car was refinished in its original Desert Beige, which is basecoat, clear coat. The chrome is all good but there is a scrape on the inside of the right tail light assembly. The center section of the rear bumper is NOS. The grille is not damaged or broken and all of the trim is in good condition. As a conversation piece I added 1965 GS emblems to the rear quarters, using two sided tape and easily removed. It generates alot of interset and many Buick people actually ask if its real. The tinted glass is all original and in generally good condition but there are some minor stone chips in the windshield and light vertical scratches in the rear window. Also, a small area on the bottom of the left side glass shows some damage from media blasting. The door seals are new and the rest of the weather stripping is original. The optional roof rack and rear window deflaetor remain in very good condition. New red stripe tires were installed on original Buick road wheels, which were refinished..

The optional Western interior was restored as needed. The bottom seat cushions were rebuilt and recovered, the backrests showing the Western motif are original and in good condition. The bottom of the door panels and armrests were also recovered. The original perforated cardboard headliner remains in very good condition. New carpeting has been installed both front and rear. The dash pads are also in very good condition. The instruments all work, except for the clock and additional period correct Stewart-Warner Green Line gauges were added, along with a original Buick tachometer, mounted in the correct location. The rear cargo compartment is unrestored . The vinyl side panels are not scrathed or damaged but there are some scrathes on some of the sections of the painted floor. Some of the rubber inserts on the floor also show some wear. The power window in the tailgate works fine.

The 401 engine was fully rebuilt, with the addition of a mild cam and original 1964 vintage Buick dual 4 barrel set up and Buick cast aluminum valve covers. An aftermarket cast aluminum valley cover and air cleaner were also installed. Petronix electronic ignition was installed in the stock distributor. The cooling system was gone through, along with a new radiator. All the original AC components are in place but the system needs recharging. The Turbo 400 transmission was fully rebuild and a mild shift kit installed to firm up the shifts. An auxiliary transmission oil cooler has been installed on the underside of the car. The two piece driveshaft has been fully rebuilt, with new U joints, center bearing and velocity joint. The rear axle is the original and other than a lube change has not required any work.

The brake system has been fully rebuilt, retaining the aluminum front drums and has been upgraded to a dual circuit master cylinder from a 1967 Buick. The suspension has been rebuilt as needed and a heavier sway bar installed in front and a rear sway bar added, along with heavy duty gas shocks, all to improve handling. The dual exhaust system is new, upgraded to 2/1/2 inches in diameter with Magnaflow mufflers. The frame, floor pans and crossmembers are not damaged and have never had any rust issues. The bottom of the car has been cleaned and refinished.

Altogether it is a great car to show, drive and enjoy. It has won many trophys and awards, including the BCA Nationals in 2017.

It's a nice car! Am I really fussy, or am I the only one here that sees the whole nose paint doesn't match?

I did notice that Frank. Seems odd. Maybe he was re-creating the factory look;).

I looked at this car at the BCA Nationals in 2017. It's a really nice wagon. The guy did a great job on it! It would be even nicer with bucket seats and a console with a four speed shifter sticking out of it.

I asked the owner and he said the whole car was painted together and matches, says it must be the lighting.

it doesn't look like the lighting to me, Chris. Not both sides like that. I'd be livid if I flew out to look at it, and it wasn't the lighting. Maybe he's color blind?
