Hi. Can anyone tell me if 65 skylark 2dr hardtop doors are the same, as ones from a convertible of the same year. Thanks Tim

    doors are the same

doors are interchangeable . I know on a 68 the convertible vent window frame is ragtop only . you might need to switch the vent window frame.

Well if you want me to measure/compare something off the convertible doors let me know.
You would think they would be the same but there's a little red flag going up that makes me think the convertible is different. But I only have vert doors to look at. :Do No:

My Buick parts catalog shows that the 1965 convertible and the thin pillar coupe have the same door. It is not the same door as the hardtop coupe or other models.

Thanks for confirming my suspicion. Now to figure out why.

    Thanks

Thanks for everyones help. But I think you burst my bubble. My doors are screwed on my hardtop. I can get a convertible for cheap with good doors, but rotten everything else. I might buy it anyway for parting out. Thanks again all.

Tim you may not be *%*#@ yet. Since we don't know what makes them different yet it could be something like the vent windows frames are at different angles. That's not too bad to change out.
Why not take some careful measurements on the doors and the placement of the hinges. You could still be in business. :Do No:

    doors

Just what i said in post # 3. dad and uncle are retired gm dealership (buick-olds) bodyman. they both said any door without a frame(like a post model) will work you must change out the vent window assembly and drill for the wedge.

The vent window assembly differences do not explain why GM made two different doors for the two different body styles. Those doors did not include the window assemblies.

A hardtop's side windows have the same appearance as a convertible; that is, when you roll down both front and rear windows, the space is totally open, with no pillars present.

With a thin pillar coupe, there is a fixed body pillar present where the front and rear windows intersect.

There are examples of both styles in the "members rides" forum of this board.

    ?

Ok with that said how is it possible a thin pillar door works on a convertible. the door frame is welded inside the door.

    My mistake.

In 1965, the body code for the hardtop was 37, in 1966 it was 17. THe thin pillar coupe was 27 in 1965 and 07 in 1966. Being more familiar with 1966 cars, I failed to note the differences when interpreting the parts codes.

Your 1965 2 dr hardtop and convertible doors are the same part number.
