I have the original Window Sticker and Protect-O-Plate for a 67 GS 400. The car was originally sold to Joseph Castronova in Detroit Michigan. Please call me if you own the car or know someone who might. The VIN is 446177H242879.

    Thats my old car.

How did you get that stuff?
I had a ton of original paperwork with that car, except for the above listed items.
The car was silver mist when new, I changed the color to a 1996 Dodge Caravan color, Dark Rosewood Pearlcoat.

I had the car for several years, was in touch with Joe and Pat(Castronova) several times, nice people. I sold the car 5 years ago, it went to the Boston area for a while, then was at a classic car dealership down in Georgia before being sold to someone on the West Coast(Oregon or Utah maybe?)
That is the last I knew of it, when the owner that bought it from the dealership called me to ask questions about the car.

    Here is a picture.

I bought the car from Larry Strube out in Colorado.
I took an AmTrack from Michigan out there, and drove that thing all the way back home. 22 hour drive with 2 blown-out mufflers, had a heck of a time just leaving Brighton.
A friend of mine was going to College out there at the time, he picked me up at the train station, took me to go purchase the car. On the way back to his place, the car backfired and totally blew the bottom out of both mufflers, the radiator blew a seam from top to bottom, one of the front tires had steel belts hanging out all the way around, etc. Was probably quite a site for my friends neighbors watching me thrash on this car in the apartment parking lot trying to get this thing road worthy.
This was back in 1991 or 1992. Lot's of memories with that car. Worked on it for years, and it went through several different engine/trans combos.
My first car show I attended after painting it, was to take the car to the Woodward Dream Cruise in Detroit where the car sold new. The car sold new at Richard Buick, I tried to find the dealership, but it had gone out of business years ago.
Quickest I had it going was 12.19@111 with traction problems, and on that pass I lost the driveshaft going through the traps:ball:
Ever heard, or seen what a driveshaft does to the underside of your car (and your pants) at 111mph:shock: :eek2: Nobody will ever get the seat belt bolts out that go into the trans tunnel by the console:Dou: What a mess!!

I don't know if any of this helps, but it sure was a fun trip down memory lane.
Thank You, was good to talk about an old friend.

    Tom,

That's a great story! I really didn't expect to have anyone reply to my thread but glad you did. Having a driveshaft go south at 111 must have been an experience!

I've had the window sticker and Protect-O-Plate for years sitting in a filing cabinet and wanted to reunite the documentation with the original owner but didn't have a way until now. I can't recall how I ended up with the car (trade?) but ended up trading the car for some parts with the Strube's. Let me know if you want the doc's, perhaps you would have a better chance of finding the newest owner.

On a different subject, my first Buick was a 67 GS 400, blue with black interior with a 4 speed. I sold the car back in the early eighties to someone in Denver...Not sure where it went after I sold it. I'd love to find that car someday and buy it back...have great memories growing up in Denver with the car. I would gladly pay a finders fee to anyone who can connect me with the car.

I sure would like to at the very least see those items.
Would be kind of a neat keepsake, although if I ran into the current owner I would forward the items to them, it would be the only right thing to do.

I know the current owner has my phone#, maybe he will call again someday?

    Thanks Philip,
    Tom

Did you get the car from Joe Castronova?
I wonder how many people that car went through?
I got the original Michigan "A" title form Larry, I was the 2nd registered owner of that car. When I titled it, I kept the original title, and it went with the car when I sold it, along with all the other dealer paperwork.

My Mom and Dads first new car was a 67 GS400 4spd. Burgundy Mist with black bench interior.
    Not many 67 GS400 4spds out there.
