OK, I have too many cars so I have decided to sell the 1967 Red GS400. Quick history, I saw the car for sale in Iowa on CarsOnLine in late 2013. Chatted with owner who was not a Buick guy but bought the car from someone in Iowa and had it for a few years. Car had been repainted, new Legendary interior, and a 430 engine in it and owner had the original engine in pieces. He did not know if the original engine was rebuildable since he got it from seller in pieces. I bought the car and proceeded to have the original numbers matching engine rebuilt and bored .30 over and the rest to stock specs . Bottom line, I rebuilt the running gear from front bumper to rear bumper, see the list below. Added Vintage Air, front disk brakes, lots of upgrades. Car runs and drives great and would not be selling were it not a space and time issue. I have a small classic car selection and too many cars! Price may seem a bit high to some but when I look at 1966 - 1972 Chevelles, GTO's, and restored 442's are all selling $5 to $10K higher than our comparable Buicks. Believe me I am upside down and will not recover what I have in the car by a mile but what else is new when you rebuild a car. Asking $31,000 which is $1000 less than my internet ads and will listen to realistic offers. Car in Fort Worth, Texas and I have lots of photos including restoration/rebuilding. Car available for inspection at any time. Vintage controls, underdash heater/AC unit, compressor new Aluminum unit to resemble A6 and I painted it black. I will have to dig out receipt to find brand. Completed almost two years ago. It may be one of these: http://www.oldairproducts.com/catal...mpressor-c-1_50000000_57000000_120132081.html since Vintage Air does not offer an A^ replacement.
Jim I can't honestly tell you since the car was painted before I bought it. I don't see any evidence of rust or wavyness in the quarters or around the glass front or rear. I did replace the rear glass since someone had replaced it before and it evidently came out of a GTO. The reason I say that is one morning when it was cool outside and I had left the car out a wet due formed on the car and the rear window showed big GTO letters in shadow on the window. When dry you could not see it only when this fine mist showed up so I had it replaced and there was no rust evident at that time. Will send you my phone and email by PM
Ok thanks, I currently have a 67 I'm building. I've decided I'm stopping on it because of rust. I've tried to find a good body she'll with no luck. Because of time and money required to build this car I'm either buying one like yours or forget the whole deal. Will contact you as soon as I get a chance.
