:TU: 'Nice to see one of these as 2015 Muscle Machine of the Year, even if owner John McKee in Arizona is not [currently!] a PSMCDR participant:

(From the December 2015 Hemmings Muscle Machines in today's mail.)

The article mentions that John also owns a 1955 Studebaker Speedster awaiting restoration, and he is a member of our Studebaker Drivers Club. :TU:

Studebaker Speedsters look very much like Dave Warren's 1955 Commander hardtop:

...that appears at the PSMCDR, but Speedsters are usually decked out in wild two and three-tone paint schemes. All Speedsters also had a 4bbl carb and dual exhausts standard equipment. The new 4bbl and manifold were on top of Studebaker's newly-enlarged [to 259 cubic inches] V8 for 1955. The V8 also got new, much better-flowing cylinder heads for 1955 than had been standard issue on 1951-1954 Studebaker 232 V8s, all of which had been equipped with a single exhaust and 2-bbl carb.

Anyway, 1969 SC/Ramblers truly personify the high-performance image promoted by the PSMCDR, so it's good to see one of them voted Top Dog in Hemmings Muscle Machines' readers poll for 2015. Congratulations, John, if you see this. :TU: BP

I did a doubletake when I saw my issue of HMM Friday.

Not so much because the S/C Rambler was voted HMM Muscle Car of the Year, but more so because American Motors product won two years in a row!
Tom Guarrs Rebel Machine won the year previously (which incidentally was participating at the PSMCDR this year).

This is such an oddity (albeit cool) that if the Chicago Cubs had made it past the NLCS, to the World Series, and I'd seen the consecutive AM HMM MCOTY occurrences, I'd be looking for fire and brimstone as Armageddon was surely upon us.

Congrats to Jim McKee and his original owner S/C Rambler on the HMM MCOTY.

Always loved the Rambler Scrambler. And the Rebel Machine and the Rogue's. You don't see many of them. Plus they were no Slouches .

I alway rooted for the Orphan cars. Studebakers and Ramblers Were very Decent cars.

:gp:  Well, Rich, I'd say Armageddon won't be upon us until a Studebaker is nominated for MCOTH, even if not elected! :TU:  BP
