Here is a real suggestion and I won't rip you. If what you say is true, I would buy them and trade them for a nice 69 Stage 1 car. If they are Stage 1 cars each of them in rough shape should go a long way towards buying the car you want.

Than when you get the cars you can say I told you so to all of the guys that ripped you. If you don't get the cars than they were right.

That is an idea not a flame.

Not goping to rip either but 3 totalled rusted 70 Stage 1s are worth less than a nice 4 spd 69 stage 1. Look at the price of Stage 1 cars and you'll see that a 69 is pretty close to a 70 price. Thats interesting that you found these cars in a junk year and I have no reason to disbelieve you. I will say that if you pick them up I'll be looking for some stuff.

Hi,I know you pm'd me about the one I had for sale, and like I responded it is sold to a recently new member. To try and give you a perspective of what you are looking for and how much, please view the following photos. This car a 77,000 mile 1969 GS 400 stage 1,4 speed car in the condition you see went for somewhere in the middle of what you are looking to spend.
It was no way a driver, and as you can see needed total restoration.Though the engine started and the frame was solid you are looking at a major investment, and 70-72 stage cars are not going to be cheaper, possibly more.Good luck in you search.Tom.

    Wow that's pretty crusty.:ball:
I'm surprised how good the entire dash/bezel area looks considering the shape the rest of the car is in.

Buicks #1 selling point in my mind is the rarity of the 60s cars.

How many are left? Considering that most people would crush a gs for the money to buy a chevelle. I got lucky to get mine, and someone stuffed a 454 into it! Take what you can get is all I'm saying.

I would guess maybe 25% of the 69 400s are left leaving 2,000 overall.
and maybe just a few hundred stage 1's are still out there.

    Anybody?

Pretty cool stories out of all.. That is a cool survivor Stage 1 Tom.. Hard to find in any conditon let alone compleate like that.. There is one on the auction block at Barrett Jackson this year.. Around number 660 1969 GS 400 4 speed car Red with Pearl interior Air car from Arizona.. This is a buddys car and should do well.. Hope it goes threw the roof..

Big difference between a driver and a driveable project. You probably should sell that 4speed and buy yourself an automatic because you seem pretty miserable about having to find parts for it.
    Oh yeah, 4speeds suck.......right:3gears:

BTW I've seen six 5335 for sale over the last month. Not a problem finding that right now.

:idea2: this is the right stuff

:idea2: also I have both 4 speeds and automatics :Brow: and while they don't suck but they are overrated....

I think I know what's right and what's wrong for my car. Let me know when you find the right stuff for a 69. Meanwhile I'll be driving my car with 70-72 linkage that no one can see anyway, while you are searching for the right stuff.:spank:
Also let me know what you pay for a 5335 shifter. I got over $300 worth of linkage with mine. Do the math and tell me what I paid for a correct buick shifter and handle. :idea2:
