Just got back from looking at this 69 GS convertible hate to say this but it's a parts car the left frame rail behind the tire is ( GONE) the bumper is hanging on the ground the rest of the car is rough as well Engine is seized, Needs a Frame, Body shell, It does have clean cowl tag an title.
But if a person had a ‘69 Skylark convertible with good bones but low options, this could be worth it in parts-or, with a little VIN tag ‘mix-up’ could live again. Not suggesting it, but wouldn’t make me sad if a person were honest about it. Patrick
I wasn't suggesting a re-body I was suggesting a used clean shell for parts, it would be cheaper than buying parts individually if you could get them. Unfortunately the owner of this car will not take parts car money for the car at this time.
Uggg.... why swap the vin tag and be honest about it??? I just don't get that train of thought. What possible satisfaction can someone get from a swapped tag? Sad to see this condoned here. OK, I'm done with my comment about that thought
You just happened to post before me, was not suggesting anything. Sorry Buick and Step Children brothers but this is one subject that strikes a nerve with me for some reason.
Ok Mike, sorry I took it the wrong way, I have the same nerve that you do if it's not born a GS then it doesn't become a GS.
I didn’t suggest it, I just said it wouldn’t make me sad. To be more specific, if someone showed up in BG driving it and said ‘yeah, she’s a mutt, here’s pics of it...’ I wouldn’t be upset. If it were a GSX or similar and being shown and fawned over (or hyped up and auctioned), yeah, I would look askance at it. Patrick
It started it's life in Michigan an ended it's life in New Jersey, I have never seen a Jersey car rot this BAD.
Someone must have bought it. The posting has been removed by its author. Never got a chance to see it.
Probably realized from people looking at it and pointing out the flaws so he might have let it go for 3 grand.
