My GS is real, but when I bought it, it had a Skylark hood. I found a '69 GS hood at a junkyard, but it must be from a GS350 because it lacks any emblems. Not even mounting holes for emblems.

So I need to turn it into a 400 hood. I bought "400" emblems from one of you fellow forum members, but I don't know where exactly to drill the holes in my hood so I can attach them.

Does anyone have measurements--how far from end of hood to drill the holes? They don't need to be exact, since this will never be a show car, just a driver. But within an inch of correct would be nice.

Thanks for any help you can give, guys.

All the dimensions are in the manual, can’t get you a pic as I’m not home currently. A 350 should have also have had the emblem holes they must have been filled in at one point.

I’ll grab you the dimensions later this evening.

Dave Tumas and I were talking about this just last night. If the hood has no emblem holes it was probably off a California GS or was a replacement hood.

The 69 GS hood would have had holes for the three different emblems (Stage 1 400 or 350) or the California GS (no emblems) only makes sense to sell the replacement hood without holes.

Here are the dimensions. I did not know about the GS California hoods not having holes figured they all had them but not too familiar with the California models. Thanks for the info....Duane and Dave, learning everyday.
