It will never get 40, too many things that aren't right. Look closley at the pictures:Dou: I'll bet up close the issues are easy to spot.

WTH, would you remove the AC from the car? To lazy to fix it? Looks like another fix it quick and flip it. That one should have been done correctly:rant:

This car was very nice and correct when Mike bought it.

I like this car, but $40k is way above market, this is not a frame off car.

I have seen the car and driven it since it was refinished, it is very well done. runs and drives perfect.
Larry has sold lots of Buicks and they are all as stated.
Any ssues would be easy to fix. Go see it before you bash it.

I don't want anyone to think I'm bashing the car, I'd love to have it:TU: Just that it looks like it was rushed to turn a buck? If I can see issues with low res internet pitcures, I guess they would really pop up close. This one deserved to be done correctly and then would bring the 40k plus. I don't think it will come close as it sits? Best of luck to the seller:beers2:

I am so sad that it didn't get done to the proper level...that car deserved to be done to perfection. It was an absolutely, totally original car and it will, unfortunately, take a lot of un-doing now to do it correctly. Why, oh why, is the shift handle painted? :Dou:

Well this is when I show some ignorance...but hey this is how you learn. I caught the shifter handle, Dennis Maroudes can fix. What else is "what else" is not right.

Mike, I had a list for you but deleted it. A previous post about 'not picking the car apart' is spot on. Many of the issues can easily be corrected.

I am the owner of this 69 stage 1 car.I am shocked by Mike B 's comments. He sold me this car and without question did not describe it correctly.I could have sold it right away and lost 10 K.Or I could put 400 hr in it and sell it for a 10 K loss, which I did ! No I am not stupid, and yes I did a nice job of this frame on restoration. I am pleased I took a pile of garbage and made it very nice again.I did not want to perform a nut and bolt, not what I was looking for at all.As far as the AC is concerned, its a matter of choice, I could but it all back in a half a day. The shifter handle was rusted all to hell, could not get it out, so I painted it for now and it looks great ! Unbelievable narrow minded comments.Look forward to someone bashing my stage 1 conv. and GSX that I put on Ebay.I chose Ebay simply because its an easy way to let the world know what you have that you would like to try to sell, these two cars obviously will not sell on Ebay, but it may bring about a buyer, which I would like as a result of business needing funding.I am really ticked off, I am a 35 year Buick guy with a 100 % reputation in the industry. When I sell a Buick and you don't like it or its not as desribed, I give you your money back and pay the shipping, but never have had to. Wow, pile of garbage huh? A LOT of people saw that car and would beg to differ. I guess one man's "pile of garbage" is another's (or, in this case, the majority's) treasure. I was simply amazed that, after all of the hype that you put into describing how well you "restored" your cars and what that car was going to be treated to, that so many corners would be cut on such a rare and original car. I never bashed the car, it was the most original and rare example I ever owned, and I wish I would have just kept it and restored it myself. We completed a '69 Stage 1 4-speed convertible that was in FAR worse shape than the red hardtop when we started out, and after a nut and bolt frame off that took 6 months total to complete, the car still pulled close to a $30,000 profit...but it was done right. Your (my old) car, even being done in a mediocre fashion, would have commanded $45,000 or more at any big auction. I'm sorry it wasn't up to your standards, but try finding another that was that well documented and original for anywhere close to what you paid and there will be people lined up to buy it, like there were when you bought it. I don't know what you are used to, but if that car was a "pile of garbage", I guess we all need to re-assess our cars.

Sounds to me like you were looking for a quick flip, which I have learned does not work in the Buick world, but don't blame me because your strategy was flawed. These cars need to be done correctly to bring strong money. What you have now, from what I can see, is a car that will need to be "re-restored" now to bring what it's truly worth. You gave me no indication that you were just going to "fix it up and sell it"...otherwise, I would've rather sold it to someone that would have done the car right. Hopefully, it is in the hands of someone who will do just that, it deserves it! And I lowered the price quite a bit to sell it to you, only because I had the opprtunity to buy my Rebel Machine at a nice price and that gave me some of the money I needed to do so.

My feelings are that you're only upset at yourself, that's okay, I can take it, so blame me if it makes you feel better. I was nothing but fair and honest with you about the car, even going so far as to tell you that it may need the roof replaced and offering you a free, rust-free donor roof, etc., which you declined...obviously it didn't need that from the description and your pictures...bonus for you I guess.

By the way, your Convertible AND your GSX look beautiful!!!...so much for the bashing I guess, huh?

eventhough there may be a few incorrect things about the car, i think that it looks great. i never was a lover of the 68-69 design, but that does not detract from me appreciating a well restored vehicle. In this buyers' market, in my opinion, the car, in ebay bidding may not pass $25000. Let's hope that i am way low.

$22k? It looks like alot of car for $22k. I would love to own this car, real nice color combo. So many of these cars were earth tones, ie: brown and greens. Ya there are some things wrong but at $22K there is plenty room to spend some money and fix them up. Good score who ever bought it, I can't stop coming back here to look at the pic's.........Chris
