Sounds about right, the PA title he showed in the pics had a 2011 date

Has anyone on the forum actually put eyes on this car since the eBay auction began?

I have not. I'm about an hour and 45 minutes away, but with a pending frame off on one of my cars and a new engine, transmission and interior on another, I'm not a real player for another car right now. I did buy a lottery ticket however...

If memory serves, It was North of Pittsburgh, like the cranberry/warrendale area.

The vibe I got from the Craigslist ad back then was, it was a nice one or two owner car that had some typical hot rod mods done back in the day.
The bad thing is, I remember all this useless information about cars from years ago, but I can’t remember what I did yesterday.

Join the club Tim. I can remember wheels on a car I saw 20 years ago, or the VIN of a car I owned when I was 18, but cant remember my anniversary.

Car has been checked out, previous owners have been contacted, appears to be a legit 20k+ original mile 4 speed stage 1, factory triple black (vinyl top removed, now double black). Numbers matching car except for carb. Protecto plate, and likely a build sheet to be found soon. Car is on a trailer heading to its new 1970 stage 1 cowl tag.JPG 70 black stage 1 protecto plate.jpg home!

Would be nice if the new owner is a forum member who will share more about this beauty.

Ha! It has to be the favorite color of PA. Coal, Steelers uniforms, the skies...

My understanding is the car was to arrive today at the shop of a well respected Buick GS restorer, and he is going to be taking off some of the "Day 2" mods such as headers, B4B manifold, etc. and putting original Buick parts back on, and also doing some much needed detailing. He is a board member, so if the new owner is okay with it, he (or I ) will likely be sharing more pics. And no, I am NOT the new owner!

Hey!!!! We get sun like 8 or 9 days a year. But I’m a coal miner, so I’m just going by what my wife tells me.

Conway is just a little north of Pittsburgh. It must have been here it’s entire life until it went to Texas. Great story.

From what I have been able to piece together, the original owner sold it to a friend around 1972, that guy sold/traded it to his wife's brother (who lived in PA and NM), then it went to that guy's brother in law (PA), and then went to Austin TX. So from about 1972 to 2016 it was owned by 3 guys who were all related to each other through marriage.

Yup. Baden, Aliquippa, Conway, all within 15-20 minutes of each other. I’m about 30-40 minutes south of that area. I’ve never seen the car in person, but I’m not much of a car show guy, either. I’m not familiar with the dealership name on the protecto plate. They must have been out of business a long time.
