1970 Buick LeSabre Parting Out

Discussion in 'Car Part-Outs' started by addisonElliott, Jul 17, 2015.

  1. Hello,
I bought a 1970 Buick LeSabre Custom about 2 years ago and have been restoring it since. I got a bit too ambitious with the body work and ended up fabricating my own sheet metal which looked horrible. In the end, I have decided to give up and attempt with a different car at another time.

I am located in Springfield, IL.

I spent approximately 2 weeks completely disassembling the car. This includes taking the body off of the frame. Afterwards, the frame was sandblasted, repaired any rust holes, and painted with black primer. I installed new drum brakes on all four tires, and bushed in brand new bushings into the control arms. I welded in handmade floor pans and trunk pans into the body, sandblasted and painted the bottom side and afterwards put it on top of the frame. This is approximately where I've stopped besides installed the trunk lid, bumpers, and front quarter panels. Everything else is lying in a neat pile in my garage.

Here are a couple pictures of the car, but I have a lot more here: https://www.dropbox.com/sc/vcug2yurir8n7gb/AAC0vjyfXibQDWdxq-5PETJ6a

Below I am going to list some of the parts that are in the pictures and the condition of them since it is not easily deduced from the picture. Make an offer on any part. Buyer pays for shipping. Feel free to ask about any part even if you don't see it in the pictures.

According to the policy, you should first respond to the forum post here expressing your interest. However, afterwards feel free to call/text me at 309-275-8402.

Do you have the emblem from the from of the car? If so, please post pics and price.

    Thanks,

    UticaGeoff

  3. I thought I had more emblems, which they may be lost in the piles somewhere, but here is what I've found.

The price is $5 each due to the condition of the items.

The first emblem has rust spots where the the rust has eaten completely through the metal near the edges of some spots. The plastic packing of the outside is in good condition but the paint is chipped in some places.

The second emblem has some spots where it is also corroding.

Third emblem is in pretty good condition. Not the chrome part, but the black part has some spots where it is rusting but the chrome is in great condition.

Thanks for the pics and info. I'm passing on them. I know a guy who has a beautiful 70 LeSabre Wagon and he's missing the front grill emblem that goes in the center.

If you'll separate them from the engine, will you give me a price on the exhaust manifolds shipped to 45240 (business)?

How about a package deal? I need the block, crank, timing cover, and heads from the engine, already have carb, intake, distributor, and exhaust. If it gets to Cincinnati, I can ship it down to Texas when I move my '68 Firebird convertible.

PS I used to live right off of Tylersville near 747(Princeton-Glendale).

  9. Body trim and front emblem is sold.

Took apart the engine and cleaned up the steering wheel. Here are the pictures:

Steering wheel is in great condition. A few small scratches on the steering wheel, but other than that everything looks nice.
Engine is very dirty, but overall the pistons, crankshaft, and manifolds look nice.
I also found another emblem out in the garage, so I took a picture of that if anyone is interested. Also, the Buick emblem that goes on the front of the hood(says B U I C K) is still on the hood.

If you're still interested in the objects, feel free to call/text me at the number above and we can work out prices and such.

    Thanks,
    Addison

I have finally been able to locate someone who should be able to pickup and hold the engine for me. I'll give you a call to see if it is still available.
