I’ll be damned! One finally turned up.
I have been collecting parts for a HD Muncie 3 speed that was originally behind a 70-455 car for years (getting close even have the 3 speed consolette shift coin thanks to Sir Wheelz!).
    Cool car, thanks for sharing!

Car wasn't ordered with a three speed, it just wasn't ordered with an optional transmission.

Making it even more rare is the dealer installed rear spoiler if this is the same car I seen a few years ago.

Ryans-GSX Have fun, life is short.

My very first GS was a 1970 GS 350 3spd manual. I loved that car. The 350 was a bit worn out but as much as I tried to kill that motor it held up to my constant abuse. I later had one of the 66 made 3spd 455 GS cars and also really enjoyed it as well.

I also know where a 70 GS 3spd 350 is only about 50 miles from me but the owner won't sell it just wants to watch it rust away. He has two the other is a 72 4spd 350 and he won't sell either. I took a huge wad of cash with me the last time I saw him in hopes to buy them but he just wouldn't sell.

My brother and I kept eye on one and guy would never sell, then one day he sold all to a scrap yard. He had like 12 buick gs's and parts. Was such a waste of great cars and parts.

Not to be a pedant, but the car was still "ordered" that way even if the 3 sp. was the default choice. When I was selling Chryslers in '83, we had ordered a fully loaded Cordoba in White with a burgundy interior with every available option, but because of one missing tick on the order sheet, it came in with a slant six. It sat in the showroom for almost a year and we couldn't give it away.

Kind of like if I order burger and it doesn't come with cheese because I didn't specify I wanted cheese. I still ordered a burger.

So the 3 sp. was an $84.48 option, but only when ordered on a GS??? Am I reading that correctly?

Jim is correct according to my salesman cheater booklet info posted above.
4 speed & automatic were optional, order no options you got a 3 speed manual.
    I misspoke earlier(corrected now).
    Thank you Jim : )
