Can you anyone lead me to the most recognized source and authority that can document or answer the following: I am trying to find the correct Hood stripe size(width) spec, and accompanying red pinstripe and color codes for a 1970 GSX. Also the body stripe measurement and spacing of the front fender across door and rear quarter to rear spoiler. The car is Apollo White. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I have the old article from "Guide to Musclecars" when they restored a GSX way back when (the measurements were used to paint my car in 89) so check out website if curious what it looks like. Background pics of gsx with measurements taken from body points overlaid on top, I believe GM was involved in this resto as well. Anything I have seen (please keep in mind though I have not scoured the corners of the earth looking for little tidbits on stripe application) documented matches these numbers. I have scanned them but too big to post here, fire me an e-mail if interested. I'm sure others will have more info as well, such as the usual mismatch right over the rear wheelwell area, etc. Just as a note of interest, the guy who painted my stripes bought a 70 GSX brand new, he said the stripe quality was terrible on his car (bleeding, etc). Go figure.
Check with GStage1's homepage he has that info I think when you get into the site. If I can post a link I'll do it if you cannot find it.

Welcome. I emailed these pics to Staples and had them blow them up to 11X17 photos.I then laminated them and gave them to my painter along with photos of GSX cars I found on this site and several other web sites,when I had the car painted.Worked out beautifuly. Good luck.
Hi Guys could some one who has the nice clear copy help me out with the measurements along the rear quarter to the spoiler . my paint guy can't read some of the munbers and looking at what i prinyt off of this thread a few of the are very faint . What he really needs are the numbers for the radius and the back of the quarter. Thanks Todd :beers2: p.s. the paint guy knows that these stripes have gotta be right.:Smarty:

Does anyone have something like this that is a little easier to read? TimR sent me his full size documents and there are still a few of the measurements that I cannot quite make out. Specifically the fractions on the thickness of the stripe and alot of the stuff on the rear spoiler.
By the way- when I finish creating the artwork the goes along with all of the stripes I'm also going to create a line art version of that install article and all of the measurements that go along with it so we all will have something clear and easy to read from now on :TU:
I have a 70 GSX with all original paint and stripes. Is there anything you want me to measure for you on my car. And YES, it is original paint.
