That's why I said in my initial post (before the reserve was added) that it seemed like a pretty decent deal - If it all checked out w/the #'s etc., not a lot of missing parts, & it is as as it says/looks, it's one maybe someone could enjoy for a while & is ultimately worth putting the $ into.
Me thinks hokey. Hardley well versed in Buick, but well versed in Chevy. GM gang stamped the blocks, meaning they were all at least in line.
"The car was painted when I bought it and I would give it a 7 out of 10" Add another $25000.00 for an excellent concours paint work. Underhood needs paint too. That yellow sticks out like a sore thumb when hood is open.
this would be a nice/respectable RARE driver with a few cheapish improvements! i know purists would want a correct resto for this rare bird, but to do it correctly you are probably looking at min 75k to 100k depending on what you can do and source yourself. would love to see this on the streets as a driver and enjoyed for what it is! would love to have eyes and hands on this to see what kind of shape its really in. i would be a buyer at 60k from what info is available right now. charlie,,,
W/o the consolette and the bright yellow underhood it sure looks like the same car. Wasn't there another thread on this car recently? I remember commenting on one w/o a consolette (I hadn't noticed and honestly spent very little time looking the eBay pics initially).
SOLD ! $60.600 Needs Work . Good buy for sum one who can due the work. Easy $30k just to strip an Paint.
it would be a shame to put that kind of money into paint on this car and not do a correct frame off={big money} not the best pics available but from what seller said it spent most of its life in the dry west and the floors and trunk are in great shape with no issues. maybe the rest of the panels are solid too? i say fix up some off the small stuff correctly and cruise this rare monster. i cannot remember the last time a saw a 70 gsx driver/cruiser, let alone a 4 speed stage 1 car. seller seems like a really nice guy to me!! p.s i need to change my avatar
I don't know if the quoted comment is only referring to the stamped VIN or serial number in the block, but I have seen (for years) uneven engine coded stampings in Buick 455s .... like uneven 'SS' and 'SR' stamps ... and on absolutely documented low-mileage cars.
