Could be a good deal depending on interior/ mechanicals etc. https://bakersfield.craigslist.org/...0-buick-riviera/7037159835.html?lang=fr&cc=ca Needs a good home!! Great project car, whether you like lowriders, classics, or big block GM's. I've got the pink(non-op) in hand and ready to go!!! 455ci. Th400. Skirts. Stock wheels with Bullets/hubs. New un-used Radiator. Newer 2 piece driveline. Dual exhaust. OBO.
Another off-year for the Riviera styling department, proof that not everything that is named Riviera is actually nice. All the same though, these were still good cars, nothing wrong with them, as long as it's loaded. If it's bare-bones, forget it. This one is a tad overpriced looking at the condition issues going on from the outside, and of course, no idea what's inside or under the hood.
This one is probably plain. A friend had one the same year and color, but he had the larger cruiser skirts and some kind of lumpy trim on the side which I kinda liked.
I love the 70 I sold mine not to long ago I couldn't refuse the offer . I do love this year in green one day I'll get one The new owner drove by a couple of weeks ago and asked for some advice and to show the air ride set up
That's the side trim I was remembering! That and the bigger skirts must have been an option package. Love it! looks like a hovercraft.
Ya know, the lowering on a '70 actually looks pretty good ... with the unique lines of the '70 Rivi's quarters and rear bumper. I remember reading that GM Designer Bill Mitchell told his Design staff to make the one year only body styling to look "French".
I'm not usually a fan of the 70 year Riv's but Joe's old one actually looks alright lowered with the skirts.
Joe, your Lt. Blue 70 has a chrome front lip above the bumper and the Green one is painted. Were they available both ways or is yours tricked out? It must have been one hell of an offer! I think I wouldn't have been able to let something that nice go.
Joe's blue car was/is a knockout, and that was a good price for one. I'm not going to say what he paid or sold it for, but this green one is waaaay out of line compared to the old baby blue beauty there.
The previous owner had those moldings chrome plated I couldn't find another one like it. I paid 4500 for the car I did all fluids and tune up plus belts and tires painted the wheels and scrubbed out paint plus interior that's it was a sweet riding car he showed me 14k cash SEE YA Here is my son inside it when I bought it and then after I cleaned it all up
Nice score! But I would say with buckets, console ,tilt, cornering lights and white interior etc, He made a score as well at 14K . Looks like/still is a beautiful example in a great color combo.
