Here are a few pictures. I bought this from the original owner. She had all of the paper work including the window sticker. It's stratomist blue with white interior and whit vinyl top.
Don't change a thing. There aren't many left that are the same as they came from the factory. You've found a real gem!
Well rally rims are not really changing it and you can keep the original wheels, its a completely reversible change and they just look better with the rallys.........
:TU: That's one nice '70! :kodak: I wouldn't change a thing. Maybe rallye wheels if you are so inclined, but it is nice as it is.
A nice unmolested example of a '70 Wayne - complete with all the paperwork. It's nice to see an original version for a change - everybody has rally wheels. Thanks for sharing ! Just needs a little TLC ! :beer :TU:
This car is so original and unmolested as far as the original equipment that I don't plan on changing anything. There was a time the first thing you'd do is put new wheels on and so now they look different because it does have hubcaps. I asked the original owner about them and she said she like the hubcaps better than the spoke wheels. These pictures were taken before I started cleaning. The engine bay looks a lot cleaner and I've painted most of the brackets, etc. that you see. I've painted the seat backs and bottom sides. I don't have a picture of underneath yet but I've cleaned and touched it up. There was still some black paint on the frame.
It's nice to see an engine pic of an untouched car. What caught my eye is the AC hose that routes up close to, if not up against the fender. Is there a retaining strap there?
The '68/'69s didn't have any straps Dale, just the 2 foam rub cushions, probably the same for '70. :TU:
Yeah, I was just looking at a pic of my engine compartment and I see my AC hose runs that direction, just not as tight to the fender. I didn't recall seeing any straps in the assembly manual, but those manuals aren't gospel either.
I'm planning on using the A/c system from my '70 on my '68. The entire system was removed from my '68. I noticed that the '70 has sort of a "muffler" in the A/C system, did the '68's have this? I know my Lesabre doesn't.
Here's a shot from the other side. I've cleaned it up some and it has new hoses and some other parts now. It had the tower type hose clamps, the windshield washer hoses had broken. You see that the cowl seal is loose on the drivers side in one of the pictures before.
Very Nice !!!:TU: Keeping the car original is the way to go. I have two 1970 Riviera and they both have their own cool options that make them look different, but still the same. If you need any help let me know. I have all the Buick books for 1970 and 1972. Again, very nice ride. Bert
Nice 70 Riv. They are a rare breed. Here is my baby. 70 Riv GS silver mist poly with 27k original miles
That is Very nice. That quality is what I'm shooting for on mine. I'm working on the engine bay now. I have a question and I couldn't tell on yours. Is there a plastic or rubber filler piece on each side on the top corners of the rear bumper? I saw them for sale on ebay but I don't know if they all had them. And are the tail light lenses reproduced? The main thing that my car needs is the rear bumper redone because it looks like it is tweaked just a little bit and the trunk bright trim just above the bumper has a flat spot on it. I could probably have that redone. The other moldings and trim looks nos. I'm enjoying working on improving it. I need to take the rear window out and seal it good. It leaks a little at the left corner which seems to be common on the GM cars around that time. Thanks for showing me your car. Wayne
