Sure looks like your Pop had some fun with the mods I see:)
Can you tell us how new it was when he bought it and did he do the mods?

I had to edit that picture. I couldn't stand on my head much longer. :)

Looks like an early build car with the clear overflow top. Bench seats or buckets?

Welcome to the board and good luck with the project!

Welcome and good luck! It’s awesome to have a car that connects you two, and fantastic that it’s a ‘70 Stage 1! Post photos, questions and needs as you go. There’s a lot of knowledge and help here.

Man oh man you have your work cutout for you!

I hate when someone makes a spaghetti mess out of the wiring!

I would suggest just buying a new under the hood harness to save you hours and hours of wiring work.

That spaghetti wiring may be why your dad parked the car for so long?

    Oh, and nice Mohawk!

JesiM, do you have a place to take the car apart at home or, will you be taking it to a shop elsewhere? Since the car was in a field somewhere for all those years, the undercarriage will probably be in worse shape than the body. Keep in touch as you go along. We're all rooting for you.

He bought it in 74 when it had 35k on it, i believe.

I believe he damaged the radiator in a street race in the early 80s

The "Mad Max" in me loves the expanded metal grill. :)

I'm working on it at home for the most part. I'm a fairly skilled mechanic and work at a repair shop, so I'm pretty confident I can do a lot of the work myself. We've pieced together that probably the only thing original is the body. Nit sure if i want to take her back to all original or restore what my dad had done to it. Its definitely not stock

Jesi. My deepest sympathies about you loss. Welcome aboard to this wonderful community. There are many here who have that same connection to a loved on and a car that was loved by them. Myself included. The avatar is of the first GS Stage 1 my late father and I restored. We did another together before he died. I hope to complete two more in the future. Ask as many questions as needed any time.
