Some red overspray on trunk hinge brackets too. If had pic of cowl tag that would answer color questions I guess. Looks like a decent re-spray though like you said they jammed it all out pretty thoroughly.

Ok, so this is obviously a VERY low option car and a post car at that (lightest 2 dr. '70 Skylark), which means this car is basically the theoretical lowest priced Skylark that the literature mentions. What would have the options been on the window sticker? Power steering?

So, would this "base-of-the-base" model have been able to have been ordered with only three additional options ...... the Hi-Output 315hp 350, and maybe a performance rear gear ratio and posi? If so, this would really be an interesting build and F.A.S.T. competitor, especially for an Olds W-31 or Pontiac LeMans 350HO.

Doo Wop Where were you in '62?

A Lark with the inline six would be the least expensive and/or "Value Priced."

Years ago in junkyard, ran across 2dr post with L6 engine, 3spd manual, rubber mat(no carpet) and radio delete.....

  5. and probably no more floor pan if you had looked under the mat.

I parted out a Seamist Green 70 2 door post with the 315hp 350 in the late 1980s when I didn't know stuff about stuff. I still have the 3:23 posi and drivetrain for this car in my storage building. Automatic car but certainly ordered as a budget musclecar - manual everything else. I wish I wouldn't have hit it on the head.

This is the 1970 version of the 64 Special I bought when I was 16. My car had 3 options: 300 V8 instead of the V6, power steering and AM radio. My car tipped the scale at 2950. Beat a lot of Mustangs with that car!

I love it! Too bad I live at the opposite end of the country, and I don’t have room for another car. Rust or not, that’s a cool ride.
