Congrats on the sale of your car. Maybe you should have bought this one at that time. I paid over 4 times that amount in 2006, and have put considerable money into it since. Including a complete motor rebuild in 2009. I know the the collector out of Chicago I put in touch with you thought you were pretty Saaa-mooth also. LOL
I Know Bruce Sidel, from Virginia, bought it from "Some guy In Chicago" in March of 2003. May be John was that guy. Duane Heckman owned the car it the late 80's. He stated to me in a PM in July of 2010 that he sold it to a guy in Fort Dodge Iowa. Duane stated in the same pm at that time the car had been frame off restored and only need a re-paint to be a concourse quality show car. John must have purchased the car from the guy in Iowa, and sold it to Bruce. Bruce put considerable time and money into the car during his ownership. I have receipts, and pictures documenting the work done on the car during Bruce's ownership. I also have pictures of when Duane owned the car before it underwent restoration. He was kind enough to give to me at the BPG event in 2010.

Tom, Kinda sad to see the big fella leaving. The car rarely was driven, and car shows brought no joy. I won't have a car at Stanton this year, hope to be back on the track later this year.

Hi there Chris, Looking to get my old Stratomist car back, but I'd be willing to swap that one out for the right convertible that I could both race and cruise with. One step at a time.

One of my favorites as well. And you know if Duane had his hands on it at one point, it is a top notch specimen!! Congrats to the new owner!

No. I don't track any of these cars. There are a few guys here that have a pretty good idea of where they end up and who has previously owned them. I would bet that they are already keeping an eye out for you, based on your 4-speed thread. Stick around and keep looking, I'm sure one will pop up that will be right for you.

It might help, if you can make it to the GS Nationals in Bowling Green, or the Cecil event in two weeks. There are a lot of very knowledgeable people at both of them, and you may find something that isn't posted here on V8Buick. One of those people is Roberta that posted right above me. She has been heavily involved in Buicks for years now. I have been to 4 Buick events/races since 2015 and I've met some awesome people that have forgotten more than I'll ever know about these cars. Show up and talk to guys that have what you want. They may know of another car like theirs. Plus you'll have a great time.

I like to watch the 71's in the $1200 to $24,000 price range. No convertibles, or 4 speeds.
