Well guys, at this point it looks like BrunoD is our only hope for finding any of these clips and screws. I hope he finds them soon
NOT SO FAST..we have a 'Specialty fasteners" company locally..I have spoken to them via fone and I will be dropping by their facility this next week to show them what I'm looking for. I have found they have unique parts specialty 'out of production" suppliers/vendors for all makes cars, boats and planes including Jaguar, Porsche, Piper, Bonanza, Leer, Donzi, Fountain, old wood 50's Century boats, old Italian cars and parts for Mangusta and Pantera...so we'll see... :beer Wheelz, Tampa Bay
Wow Wheelz, that is great news. I am sure if they don't have them in stock, that they may even be able to make them:Brow: This would be awesome if we could get them some business on the board from a few of the interested guys:TU:
Ok Michael, you have got our curiosity up now. What did you use to make your clips and screws and how has your idea held up?
When I was putting my car back together in 1998, I was also looking for the clips. In my case I needed all six and could not find a one (even post an ad on here). After not getting anywhere for about six months trying every contact I had I desided to make my own. I went to the Auto body supply house and bought part number PM49956 by Auveco . They come in a bag of five of corse so I got two. First I made them flat by cutting the "U" off with a die grinder then used a grinding wheel to make them the correct width. Need a picture of the bag? Send me an e-mail to: sunbuick@aol.com Then I got six -stainless 8/32 screws and cut then down to about 1/4 inch. Worked like it supposed to and still holding up.
Sorry..but NO. I was at Mark Reeves place: Thenandnow in Atlanta on monday delivering mike Sobotkas chassis and touring his facility. We got back to tampa early tuuzdee....worked wed and thrusday....and today I just couldnt finda nrg  to go see these guys and look thru thousands of clips/applications... I will tho. I will. Hang in. :beer Wheelz, Tampa Bay
Wheelz, any luck with finding the clips and screws?? PM DansGS and Jim Rodgers both and got no responses. I know they are busy, but o No:
welll...their on line catalog gave me some ideas..so when I decided to "drive over" to see and and actually hold the pieces in my hand.....I got to the place they used to be, and GUESS WHAT...it was empty!? Apparently they moved almost 3 years ago and I never thought to look up the addy cause I had bought from them so many times when I restored MG's....so, I since found out they moved almost two hours north of me and I just havent had time to get up there yet. My momma used to say...ITS ALWAYS SOMETHIN. another day I will try again. sheeesh.. Wheelz, Tampa bay
