It's got a '72 air cleaner. And the badge on the trunk looks misplaced to me.

Looks like a grill emblem on the trunk and it is in the wrong place. And a '72 air cleaner...

IF it is a real BB convert its $29k on its best day, only a Stage 1 would get $39k.

I emailed him and asked for the VIN. We'll see if he sends it.

And aren't the power window switches from a 1970 and earlier car?

Yeah. The driver's door switch bank is wrong. But the others look correct. Still haven't heard back yet.

And whoever took the pics sure casts a BIG shadow.

Looks "OK" but I noticed poor door gaps and panel alignment. Especially excess gap from doors to front fenders. Still not too bad but certainly not $40K worth... ws

A lot of questionable items for a 40K asking price, and for gods sake, for that money, you can't clean it up a bit under the hood and run the vac through it......

Looks like Arizona road dirt all over under the hood! Gage cluster could use some MOLOTOW chrome pen attention. The WAYYY incorrect upper radiator hose looks like it was laying on the wrong hood seal foam and also has a heater hose for a PCV line. Then theres the AC pulley and alternator fan difference. Please dont look at the aluminum drivers side AC duct work under the dash! Smells like a fowl duck.
http://www.carlscars.com/ Ol' Carl mustve bought it on a lark! Not a terrible rendition but the price is in the outer limits!
    HI Jerry!! ws

Another attempt and no response. I think he's got a converted Skylark and he knows it.

It's a shame the car has a great color combination wouldn't last long if it was the real deal.
