I CANNOT believe that car is going to bring that much money!!!! I think I am going to puke! WTF was I thinking when I sold it! Oh well, looks like Rich is gonna be eating good for a while! Just think of how much that makes everyone's nice car worth.

I have done this twice now, first time was not so good (didn't do my homework), second time went smooth as silk. :TU:
Generally, for older cars from the 60's and 70's, it is fairly straight forward.

You will be charged GST, based upon value in Canadian dollars, and will have the option of paying any Provincial sales tax at the border, or when you register the car.

If the car has A/C, then another $100.00 A/C tax is levied by Customs.

If, you are serious about doing this, read all the pertinent info in the above link. :TU:

WOW :jd: This car may be worth 200k at the next BJ auction or most probably new owner is a bag holder! :Dou:

He should give ad writing lessons. That's a beauty. Such as, the interior's all there except the front and back seat bottoms, then there's a pic of the interior stripped out with a big hole in the floor. Overall, the pictures contradict the words. The rust on the frame looks pretty deep to me too, but maybe I'm just too picky.

You can do a google search for US Customs and get all the info on importing a car to the US

Like I have said before holy ^%$# I guess my Suncoupe is worth more than I paid for it already and it is nowhere as rusty as this car. I have seen a lot of rust buckets in my day and bought most of them but I have never seen the tunnel rusted out . I was thinking I might be in at 3-4K but now the bigdogs are taking over ! As they say if you cannot run with the big dogs just stay on the porch . I am on the porch on this one . I expect the new owner might have a real nice Skylark convertable that will soon be a GS Stage 1 convert with a non matching engine !

John, that's exactly what I'm thinking. Who's got an orange and white convertible skylark out there that is in great shape as a shell? Inquiring minds want to know.

I concur!!! Hell, I might have to list my car (with a reserve) just to see what happens!!

With all the NOS stuff I have to go with it, the documentation from Sloan, original engine and all the other "Stage 1 only" stuff I have here for it, I might fare pretty well..... :Brow:

Then I could buy something that doesn't need ANY work!!

(well, they always need work, don't they??) :Dou:

$15,000, unreal. Now I wonder what my Sloan documented '70 GS 455 convertible originally with 3-speed manual might be worth. 1 of 17. Diplomat Blue with Pearl White interior and top. And it is no where near a rough as that car. Looks like I'll be starting to restore it soon.

If you want to sell that Blue and white convert, I know of a fellow in Seattle whose initials are "Chris" that would take it off your hands.

On anther note on this auction, check out the bids. Why does it show the high bidder as the high bidder all the way from 7,500 to the current 15,000 without any bids from anyone else?? I don't know a lot about ebay but this seems strange.

The bidder placed a $7,500 bid which did not meet reserve, then placed another bid for at least $15,000 which did meet reserve, so the current high bid jumped to the reserve price.

    high bidder

The high bidder is trying to find the reserve to make sure when it gets close to the end of auction the car will go to the final "high bidder" and if he's the guy? he owns it!!

I have an extra 72 WS code block that I would maybe consider selling, especially if the buyer is willing to pay that kind of money for a car in that condition. :Brow:

And I might know where a buyer could find a nice 72 Ragtop that has had all the metal replaced already and the frame restored .

The owner of the car Mr. Rich Johns belongs to this board so instead of everybody speculating and wondering ,why don't we just ask him , Hey Rich did your car sell ? Did you get the reserve? If so congratulations you did very well on that Bill
