Who bought the car? I made a last moment try but kept getting out bid. Put final bid in with 4 seconds left and I was just to slow. Let me know if the guy ahead of me doesn't come good.
Brett, I hope you are happy with the sale and that the car finds a good owner. I'd love to have that GS and typically I'm not a big fan because of the lack of options. But your GS is optioned right. :TU:
Maybe my fingernails will start growing back. My father will be happy to have his shed, basement and attic back, too.
Congrats Brett! So who is the new owner? Does he want to sell some of those parts to recoup some of his investment? o No:
Thanks! I'll let him chime in, if he's even in fact a board member. With 149 "watchers" and over 2200 page views, it's quite possible the winner cruises this site.
Time to turn the page Brett, but like any true Buick man you will be back in the game again when the time is right. Knowing what a long road restoring such a great car can be, could keep you putting it off for years, I have done it myself. Sometimes it makes more sense if you run across one that has all ready been restored, just turn the key and away you go !!! With this economy you never know what deals may be in the future. Good Luck,:3gears:
I agree. If anything, this auction has rekindled my interest in this hobby. I've also learned a lot in a short period of time and I'm excited to see both what becomes of the car and what time lends me in terms of opportunities to get into something that needs just a driver and gas. As an aside, the winning bidder is a board member and as I stated earlier, I'll let them chime in when they feel the time is right. :3gears:
I wish I had the space, time and money to do this car right. It should be sweet when done. I didn't even kid myself and bid when it was low. I would contemplate a trade when it was put together. Depending on WHO did the work.I'm unbelieveably happy with what I have, but..... the auto is killing me. I want a four speed so bad I can taste it! If anybody out there has a numbers matching big block ( built by greatscat) with paint and bodywork by gsjo, and a Legandary interior, Gardner exhaust AND four speed ,that would trade straight up, lemme know. I WON'T hold my breath.
Kevin, I get the sense the winning bidder has every intention of giving the car it's proper due. The gems are out there, you just have to be patient. Having a little extra cash doesn't hurt either. I guess in terms of finding something else, I'm lucky that I don't have anything to sell in order to generate capital or extra space. I'm a little older and wiser now as to opposed to when I was wheeling and dealing 15 years ago, so I don't mind waiting to find the right car for me. If anything, this board has proven that you can find what you're in the market for and sometimes what you never even envisioned finding.
Brett there wil always be another car. build your cash reserve and when the right car shows up and you have the green snap it up.
I'm checking in to see if the winning bidder has any updates he'd like to share. Last we spoke, he'd already started with the resurrection. So.....
