Flame Orange, all numbers match. Auto, black buckets with center console, air, real solid body with a couple small problem areas. Resided in Santa Rosa, .CA it's entire life until I bought it in 2010. Dry storage since. Have a shitload of pictures. If interested, send me an email address and will send you all the pics. Sloan Docs, original paperwork, etc. Car is in Twin Falls, Idaho. $24500.00. Delivery available but not included.

Mike, looks like it has MANY more options than you listed- tilt, air, disc brakes, sport wheel, that directional thing on the dash....

    Fasten Seat Belts Light perhaps?

Mike, Remember that I am a "drop top" convertible guy with 4 -speeds preferred. It is - 8 outside now with lots of snow. Inside the barn / shop it is about 60 degrees. Flynbuick, Yes that is a fasten seat belt light but in one of my former Stage 1's (hardtop) , I told the kids it was the "HANG ON" light. An old trick like my Dad did with the high-beam indicator in his Gran Prix with the red Chief Pontiac symbol. Your car will sell quickly and it looks "solid". Regards, Upstaged in SW Michigan

Jim and Upsatged.. I don't know 72's that well.. LOL. I thought it was something similar to the "opticon" for headlights or whatever.. Darn 72's... :)

Did 72's have the buick emblem on the hood and the Stage 1 on the trunk? Not picking just asking? Always looking to be correct and if I spot something I always ask.

Got any under-hood photos to share?

    BUQUICK I'm your huckleberry.

After 1/1/72 Buick A-bodies (Skylark or GS) with the optional Rally gauges got the “FASTEN SEAT BELTS” indicator on top of the dash. If you see an earlier car with Rally gauges it will not have it.

This is a great car. I sure would like to have it. I’ll add a couple of things to note about Mike’s car.

Since it was sold new in California it also has the California emissions required option, E5 on the order form or RPO VJ5, which was about $15. This provided a slightly recalibrated carb with a unique part number (7042942). It also has a different intake manifold casting # because it has an EGR valve back behind the carb. According to the Buick Daily Car Reports only about 32 Stage 1 hardtops had this (25 at Fremont and 7 at Flint). Thankfully this car has the original carb because finding another would be extremely difficult.

Another thing to note, the distributor is dated 0F23 (June 23rd 1970) which is correct, even for a ‘72. Buick apparently built a ton of Stage 1 distributors in that batch on 0F23 and every original ‘72 Stage 1 I’ve seen has this distributor. There is an old thread about this topic. Both of our original ‘72 Stage 1 cars have 1112016 0F23 distributors. The red paint on the distributor is also correct because the base was installed on the engine when it was painted.

In case anyone is interested to know, 57 Stage 1 hardtops were built as Flame Orange with no vinyl top. A fantastic looking color on these cars.
