Great color combination! And a 4 speed, too! Nice!

I'm with you. I like most everything else about the 73's except the front bumper. Sticks out enough to double as a picnic table.

I don't think that's chrome on it,it looks more like that new tape that looks like chrome.Bruno.

One of 16 with the Stage 1 four speed with air PW, PDB, PS, tilt, factory in-dash AM-FM 8 track (!) and no console. Mine was such a lemon that it got what it deserved! It was pretty fast for a '73 tho... ws

I would like to know where they get their in as 1 of so many with A/C etc..In have done extensive research on these cars and nowhere does it break down that far for accessories etc..

I'm a sucker with any BOP with a four speed. Especially the 73-76 cars. I had a 73 Hurst Olds back in the day. It was an auto car but still loads of fun.

73 was not the first year for radial tires, they were available in '68, option F7 "radial ply". Just an FYI:bla:

Nice car, love the 4 speed...

Were all of the bucket seats "swivel" style? I don't see that as an option. I had them in my '73 Monte Carlo.

Ok..We all know the daily car reports and they tell us how many cars were made with each option. I know Eric did the research on Stage 1 cars, but nop one has went as far as saying this car is 1 of 22 made with some options. On my 73 there were 65 made color code 65,it had a/c ps,blah blah blah..So, I could just throw up in the airmy car was 1 of 65 with those options. If someone broke down every car then it would be true. Eric just did the Stage 1 section. No one broke down the remainder of the remaining 273 4 speeds There were U cars with 4 speeds,T cars with 4 speeds and 350 cars with 4 speeds.

It is chrome. What you're seeing is the reflection of the checkerboard floor in the bumper. There will be many more pics added in the next couple of weeks.

Mine is another one of those 42 4spd-A/C cars..

Mike - the 73's didnt have swivel seats - they were an entirely different design, although like the swivels they were 1 piece and high backed.

Sorry Rich, I don't get off the bench too often. Coach sez I'm too good to play LOL... The 73 you see here was like new in about 1975 when I bought it. On the way home the speedo started squealing so bad that it was a stop at the bone yard for another head and then a new cable from the motor parts. Made it home in a rain storm and the windshield leaked like a sieve and the power windows quit working. That was Day 1.

Within a few weeks I started having tire leaks. Changed a flat after working all day, then it wouldnt start. Had to pull the jack back out and get under to jump the solenoid to make it home and replace the starter. Drove from there to Sears for 4 new tires and two FLATS the next morning!

Within 6 months, I replaced probably 4 clutches and in BETWEEN those, just to stay in practice, Id have to pull the aluminum T-10 for spinning bearings. I staked the races back in and used locktite, but they'd still howl when they slipped.

The final straw was a brand new spread bore Holley to replace the Q-Jet. Went out for a test drive in the country and just driving along started hearing a rod knock. Oil pressure dropped down to about 10 lbs. and out came the Barlow and the fuel line to carb got a mysterious "knick" in the fuel supply hose. Just my luck in no mans land, a guy pulls up with a BIG fire extinguisher, but the hood release cable anchor had melted and wouldnt pop the hood. It was 15 minutes before the Fire Dept showed up.

They wanted to look in the trunk for anything smouldering and saw about 20 empty one gallon cans of safety solvent (trichloethane III) that I had used on a daily basis to put water in the radiator at work since it leaked so bad. About a week before that I was changing heater hoses and my pal pulls one off the heater core and the nipple was still in the hose.

I never cared for the door glass always wavering in the breeze either. I was just waiting for that to bust when you had to slam the doors to stay closed. That '73 was truly a "Monday Car". My heater hose pal had a new '73 chevelle that was vey similar. Ill never own another Gen V "A" body ever again. And That's That! Well, some of it anyways... ws

Wow for a relatively new car it carried on like a worn out 20 year old car.

How long did you keep it or what happened to the burnt out hulk?

I probably drove it as a daily driver for a very frustrating year and a half. The after pics were taken at the Shell station in Willowbrook, Il. Just went by to take some pictures; there wasn't much else to take LOL... A pal had a 1970 350 horse 350 Kingswood wagon that he sold me for $200.00 that had gaping rust holes, but only 50K on the clock. It was a pleasure to drive tho. After I got the insurance check and paid off the note, I never looked back. That POS was sooo beautiful, but such a lemon! Diplomat Blue with a white inside. ws

wow sorry to hear that,my 73 Century 350 2bbl was so reliable it was scary. When the fuel pump went I still made it home. However I would have killed to have the parts that your car had.Hell,I couldn't even find a 4 bbl intake for it.
But if it makes you feel better I did get a flat once
