I saw this one and I'm pretty sure it's not a real GN. I have only seen a T handle on the shifter, I don't think the dash is correct, and I think it says T-type on the center of the steering wheel. You guys will know. I've only driven an 87, but this car smells like a copy to me.

Very Rare, Largely Original , Extremely Solid, Ready for Restoration
If you've been searching for a Grand National T-Top Project This is THE Car you've been looking for!
93K Original Car Fax Verifiable Miles
No Visible Body Work, No Visible Rust
Needs all weather stripping and paint!
Has New: Spark Plugs, Fuel Filter, Oil Filter W/Full Synthetic Oil Change, New Spark Plug Wires, New Ignition Switch, New Battery, New Alternator, New Moser Axles & Rear Wheel Bearings, Full AT Service. I purchased this car late last year when I was unable to locate a Trans-Am project I wanted to complete, shortly after purchasing I found the perfect T/A and just don't have the time or funds for this project. All parts listed as just replaced are original AC Delco equipment items, exceptions being the battery and alternator which are Napa brand. The only detectable upgrades on this car are: Aftermarket Intake, Bosch Radiator Fan (wired keyed-on constant running w/key on), Custom Exhaust, External Wastegate modification, Additional boost/water/oil pressure gauges, aftermarket stereo head unit (original unit included), Performance Chip upgrade (Applied Technologies dated 1991). This car needs paint! There's no two ways about it, it needs restoring, it looks great in these pictures and from ten feet but it suffers from the normal checking found on GMs from this era. I did have the car professionally wet sanded and exterior detailed before putting it into storage, it looks great from a distance as you can see here. The driver's door and front fender have been repainted, I was told this was from the car being "keyed" there's no body work in those panels as far as I can tell. The side moldings have been removed and the driver's side plastic trim around the fender edge was not re-installed when the fender was painted. The rear bumper fillers were also destroyed in transit, the front bumper fillers are cracked. Photos are current taken June 20th, 2009. The rear window parcel shelf is included with the car, it was removed when the window tint was installed and not reinstalled as a new panel was going to be fabricated minus the cut-out for the third brake light (also included)
I also had the windows and T-tops professionally tinted by the best local shop in our area; Tommy's Window Tinting, 20% tint on the side and rear windows 5% on the T-Tops. Price includes one spare GN wheel (no tire), original intake system, and original radio. Power Windows and antenna work great, gas gauge does not read accurately, reads full or close to full no matter what the level. The rear tires have sidewall damage from sitting and should be replaced. Since last winter once the car is warmed up it likes to stall, I believe this is caused by a bad Mass Air Meter but I am not going to invest any more money into the car to figure it out. This car should be considered a project and not a driver, its a very solid car with very few modifications.

  2. it's got the WE2 on the options tag. I think that indicates GN option

It sure looks to be the real deal LC2 in the RPO codes which is the turbo motor, 2004r trans, 8.5 rear diff, turbo dash, power master braking system.

I'm far from an expert on these cars, but didn't the t-type have the same turbo motor? or at least have it available?
I love these cars but don't know a lot about what spec's could be found, or much of any of the GN or T-Type specifics, and like I said I've only ever driven one 87 GN.

It's a real GN. WE2 on the Service Parts Identification label is for the Grand National Package. No posi though (G80) which is kinda weird for a car with so many other options.
