I'm not quite sure, but would "Thank God" be the correct response? Or do we need something in reference to his, ah..........experience?

my GT-37 has the original motor. The plan is to pull it and store it for 09 and build another one. Also, while my W-31 has never been to Stanton (or Martin), it sports the original motor too. Eventually I'd like to build another one for that, but I think I need to concentrate on the bodywork first.

What a great time!!It was great to see everyone again!! A big thanks to Bob and Dan for all the hard work they do to host this event each year..I'm happy with the way the Mustang performed, but I think we have some room for improvement in our 60 ft times and my reaction times as well!!I had a very close match with david in his 1970 Roadrunner 440+6,he smoked me on the tree twice, and our cars were so closely matched that it was impossible to out MPH him and catch up!By the way,my car also has the original, numbers matching engine under the hood, for now anyway....

    Dad's T-37 is #'s matching throughout. Carb,Dist,trans,rear,etc.

I think the best I had was a 14.55@95, and I guess that's not too bad considering I was told "Don't beat on it" No power shifting, and a car that wouldn't 60' worth a crap. 60' times were in the mid 2.25-2.35 area:rolleyes:

Timing was set conservative. Car definately has more in it. I'll have to see if we get to run it again:Do No:

    Original Block? :boring:

Let's hear about something really rare.

Who has the original factory installed exhaust pipes?

My buddy's triple green '69 Hemi road runner does :TU:

    Oh yea....block too.:boring:

Before this event it had the original brake shoes on it.

    They were a bit thin.....

I did have all that, Brian, first year we ran it (1999) in Pure Stock. I have since rebuilt the entire brake system, installed the Torque Tech 2 1/2 exh system, and rebuilt the original engine 4 times (twice for eating cams).

It would probably still have all the original stuff if I hadn't started racing it. No looking back, though. Too much fun.

Bet he doesn't have a 1969 yellow jacket on the rear package shelf, though. Was thinking of putting it on ebay. :Brow:

The Ford has the original horn ring....no wait I used the other one. Well I still have the original horn ring, and the the cigarette lighter too!!

I had to reproduce (Cast and machined) the blower bracket, the bonnet, the pullies. Also make repo timing covers and water pumps for Y blocks. Not a damn thing from Year one!!

Thanks to Dan & Bob for a great event.
I ran my personal best of 14.16@101.62.
Maybe next year I'll finally get a 13 sec run.

Frank, thanks for the breakfast on Friday morning.

It was also cool to see our convertible out there for the first time.
Thanks to Mike "McFord" McPhillips for driving it.
It ran a 15.35. Not bad for a cleveland with over 128,000 miles on it.

Thanks Bob and Dan for another fabulous weekend filled with fun, joy, promise and heart ache...

Toasted the original posi in the Judge, peglegging it is not the fast route down the track! Sorry Frank. After 77K miles and the original owner and I racing the pee out of it, I suppose it has the right to give up. Thursday saw a new clutch after killing that at the HPP Shootout and now a new rear and shedding the 1996 tires should perk the old girlie up once more. I have given up on retiring her, she will be all freshened up, you can't leave a prettied up girlie like that tucked away can you? Bruno I will take a rematch next year with a healthy Judge.

Brian the Hemi Challenger I brought last year even had factory jetting not to mention exhaust. I left the original tires off though. I thought that was a safety issue.

Jody everyone else seemed to have no issues showing up in a "Weymouth Rental", I am sure there was some sort of mis-communication on that one:spank:

I already can not wait for next year.

Who was car #080? You got my qualifing time it was determined by Dan. The tower listed my car several times on my slips as 080 instead of 008. It worked out as it paired me with Bruno even though I could not give him a good fight with my dead rear end. It helped me though as I qualified at 12.77 instead of 12.62. Which would have been really unattainable with my situation.

    I was car 080... you mean I ran a 12 ?? !!!

I know there was some number confusion this year..... there were 2 074 cars before I got 080.......

and I got beat by a Weymouth Rental....now there is a testimonial if ever I heard one..

Yes Donny you have officially run your first 12 second pass to the tune of 12.62@ 114+. Great job! I think you can once again update your tag line at the bottom.

"Weymouth Rentals, get that winning feeling". Donny sorry the jetting suggestions did not work out and you lost every round by .010 or less...
