TRR is next week in Daytona. If you have never been to the Plaza in the evening after the track shuts down you have missed something big in the muscle car world. Weather is forecast to be in the mid to high 70s. We go every year.

I'll be there with two friends. We'll be in yellow field, row 65, spaces 1336 to 1338 (or close).

I've been going for years but I've never taken my car. I plan to one year. Maybe a bunch of V8Buick members can get club parking one year, maybe even drive down together. :Do No:

You must mean Bel-Aire Plaza on A1A. Great meet and what better place than Daytona! Be sure to check out the old pics at the Shoney's on A1A also with all of the greats back to Lee Petty.

Yes Belair Plaza rocks with the cars being driven until the wee hours of the morning. We usually head over there from the track by about 3 pm in order to get a spot and beat the traffic. I also have started staying across the street from Bel Air at the La Playa. The cars start showing up at Bel Air tomorrow night.

I'm coming to the TRR for the first time this year. I'll be there Friday afternoon thru Sunday.

Hope to see some of you there. I will definitely go the Belair Plaza to see what that's all about. Sounds like a great time for everyone!!

    Hi Jim,

We may make it by Thursday evening. The plan is to drive north to Tampa for Turkey with my parents. Then we're heading to Daytona for the weekend. We may head out for the TRR after dinner on Thursday.

I'll give you a call when I'm there as I would like to meet up to say "hello" in person!

Looking forward to seeing some nice cars.... Will there be may Buicks at this event??

Yes in the sense of a fair number but as a percentage of so many cars no. All years of Buicks though from the 30s up without a focus on 60s and 70s.

I be there.....I think I'll be going on Thursday from Orlando.

Of course I'll be spending a big more time around any Buick I see so If I see a car owner, Ill be sure to say hi in case its a board member. :kodak:

Unfortunately I left it too late to get my car in there

Rob, Ive been there a few times now... usually over 5000 cars, hard to walk through them all in one day - it can be overwhelming, and you'll probably count less than 20 68-72 A-bodies. There will be a few older ones though, I like to see them all.

Myself and a couple of friends will be there Friday. Usually when the gate opens.
Went to one of the first ones (TRR) with my Grandfather in the early 70s. I got to drive to the track in a '51 Pontiac Chieftain 2 door with a straight six and three on the tree. And no power steering. The event was very small then and after the "show" we took a lap around the apron of the track. Real neat experience. It was the first car I worked on as a teenager. I've been back almost every year since.
I'll look for your cars! -Mike

I will be there for the second year. I will get there Thursday evening and leave Sunday morning. Hope to see as many Buicks as possible. We will be driving the Suncoupe down, so look for her. Got the N25 bumper and tips on and finished today. Sounds nice too. I will be in the SE corner of the track with my local group, something like section 288, if I remember correctly. Try and stop by and say HI... If I am out looking at cars, leave a note in the front seat or something.

I have seen that before and the cars always come. If that ever happens my taste for the event will be a lot less. I enjoy the Plaza as much as the track.

I hope the Belair Plaza activities are still going to happen. From what I am hearing that would probably be my favorite part of the weekend.

I really can't understand business people shooting themselves in the foot by barring such a large group of people from their establishments. It is probably the fw very vocal merchants that are making problems for everyone.

Hopefully it will be simply a small inconvenience and the Plaza gathering will still happen in a large way.

On another subject, are there some amazing deals at the swap meet? Any chance of finding RARE Buick parts??

Hope to see some of you this weekend!!

Almost no Buicks parts so the chances are slim.

The business owners in and around the Plaza, including the Fridays, have taken on the landlord in the past when he tried to do this. So far the owner has always backed down. We wll see.

Can you just show up early at the Speedway and if your car is judged adequate / nice they will let you park in the infield if you pay the infield fee ? I may go up Fri or Sat if thats the case.............J

sootie, The infield may be full. Most folks pre-register. You can check the website and call them. You may have a chance on Friday if you get there real early. We always pre register and get to the track at 6:30 - 7:00. We enter on the back side of the track and there is usually a long line forming already.

Jim, You are correct - very few Buick parts. But ya never know. A couple years ago I found a very nice '69-'70 16" Sport wheel for $150. There was someone there with a huge load of different steering wheels. The Buick wheel was thrown in with the bunch. -Mike

I'll be there in the car corral. Stop by and visit. If anyone needs any parts, etc., I'll through them in my trailer to save some shipping. I won't have a Buick in the sale lot, carrying a 40 Ford coupe this time. Black with flames.
