well I just called the luxurious comfortable inn in Alma, they are not taking reservation's until may 1st, 2014. They have a new policy that you must stay 2 nights, Thursday the 11th and Friday the 12th in order to get a reservation at that dump. How many of us only stay 1 night? I find this deplorable, who do they think they are, the Ritz?? Dan, can you see what you can do about this? They said they had too many rooms open? They are also going to pre charge you in advance of the date. It looks like we will be staying at the other dump across the street.
This is a direct result of people being stupid and reserving 6,8,10 rooms to try to hand out like Pez candy, only to cancel all but the 2 rooms they really needed in the first place. Then the Hotel end up with over half the rooms unspoken for the day before the event, because people were forced to stay somewhere else after being told the Hotel was "booked". Maybe what they should do instead is limit the number of rooms one person can reserve,thus giving more people a chance at a room. This reserving excessive numbers of rooms has killed thee turnout at the host Hotel. Moral of the story....Don't be a dumb ass when reserving rooms:Smarty:
