Posted by Mike Jr, hope everyone can get there! I might need a ride myself!

MARK YOUR CALENDARS! May 13-16, 2020 is the OFFICIAL DATES for the 40th annual Buick GS Nationals!! This is going to be a special event as we will be celebrating the 40th anniversary of the GS Nationals as well as the 50th anniversary of the 1970 model Buicks! 50 Years of the Buick GSX, one of the most iconic muscle cars produced! 50 years of the Buick GS Stage 1, one of the fastest muscle cars every produced! 50 years of the Buick 455 engine, one of the most powerful engines of the era, putting a hurt on anyone who dare challenge!

The nationals will be hosting a GSX reunion! If you own one of those beautiful cars, running or not, please bring it! We want this to be the largest gathering of GSX's EVER!

If you own a 1970 or 455 powered vehicle, bring it! Come celebrate the 50th anniversary of the 1970 model Buick's and the King of Torque, the Buick 455!

This is a new date! The past few years the GS Nationals has been in October. The weather was lousy most of those times, so the event was switched back to May! Please help support the event! Get the race car prepped and ready, polish the show car, pull out the used parts for the swap meet, and most importantly, come!! The event needs your support to ensure it's continued success every year.

    Hope to see you there!

We will be there. There are only a few Buick guys I know on the Gulf coast. I'm going to pester them to go. Not everyone follows social media. Sure would be nice it all the buick vendors would send out mail flyers about the event to every customer they have had over the say past 3 to 5 years. Maybe list the event in Hemmings ,Hotrod, and other magazines. Even spread the word through all the other car communities. Just a though.

These wreaks of trouble IMO. Dallas jacking the price to try to push Richard around gives me a bad feeling.

Well Briz. I appreciate someone letting us know somthing
I know theres a fee for renting the track ? Had no idea $7000 unless that's other cost. Am I reading that correct? Now I see below posting about pricing. WOW ( post edit)
    Again. Thanks for the info.

I believe the 7K is over and above the regular rate we paid in Oct.

Take the discount.....and move it to what ever dates it must be(end of May vs 13-16). The rental price will automatically keep going up every year due to expenses regardless what. It is still early enough for the date changes, that it shouldn't make much difference to everyone to attend, so "Take the discount while you can" and save that money for the following year. Just my conservative opinion.

Its not dallas jacking the rate. The buick club is the only event that does not pay the going rate for the track due to dallas and richards long friendship.
That track normally rents for 100k
If you say that it crazy then go try to rent a top notch facility.
Btw ls fest on Saturday alone there had 35000 spectators.
So lets just say its 10 dollars a person. do the math.
1500 buick people is not enough to cover the costs anymore of the event. We are lucky to even get a date.

What Briz had posted (and since deleted) made it sound like just that, which is simply the information I was going off of.

I'm sure and hope everything works out as planned . My wife and I just went to 39 as I've posted before. Just meeting people with the same passion with Buicks is great, plus the racing and parts. . I did figure there would be more post here. On this by more members as soon as it came up. Maybe it's so far off, and many have been before, they dont get to excited till it's time.

Just happy it will be in May. My kid is in school now and would be in October. May is better as they usually wrap up the first part of May. He likes to watch the drag racing.
