    Hello all,
I have a 215 Buick engine that I'm using in my Lotus Esprit project and have a question about the NOX port use. I've installed a Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold and am using the one threaded port for the electric fan temperature switch and now need another port to install a temperature gauge sender. Being that I'm not using the NOX sensor can I use the port that it was screwed into at the back of the right cylinder head for the temperature gauge sender?

I believe the answer is no. There is no coolant flow there. If it is like the switch on the later model big block heads, the switch just operated a dash light that went off when the engine warmed up. It's a blind hole.

Thank you so much! I'll have to drill and weld a bung/nut onto one of the steel tubes I fabricated to run the hoses from the engine to the radiators.
    Thanks for your input!

I have a Rover EFI intake and was also short a threaded port hole for a temp sender. I just simply located a flat spot on the intake where the coolant passages are and drilled and tapped a new hole. I used a 3/4" brass pex fitting.
