Is there a seal/o-ring that fits onto the oil dipstick that would seal the dipstick to the engine block? Or does the flange on the dipstick just sits on the block? Thanks!

They originally did have some type of gasket that sat on the underside of the flange on the dipstick. My best dipstick has about 3/4 of one left, its all dried and shrunk now.

If you come up with a new seal please post here.

Keith, is/was what's left of your gasket foam or rubber or...?

I eventually went to a tube-and-dipstick with a new style cable dipstick and o-ring seal. But on the 215 you might have to drill out the hole in the block to get one of those to fit.

I just cleaned everything with gumcutter gooped it up with windshield urethane and put it in, trimmed it after it set up.
