I have a 1967 Buick Special with the 340-4 engine. The fuel pump started leaking this morning.

All of the parts websites say a A/C car should have a 3-line pump. I have factory air but a 2-line pump.

I sure my car is factory air, it's a low mile original car and I have the bill of sale with the option codes listed. I don't even see any provision for a third/return line.

    Thoughts?

Unless you have owned the car from new, can you really say what has been done to the car before you owned it? The 3rd line is a vapor return line (1/4"). It is there to combat vapor lock. It returns hot fuel and vapor to the fuel tank in an effort to keep the fuel at a lower temperature. A/C cars run hotter than cars without A/C, and the factory equipped cars so optioned with a 3 line pump. I would examine the fuel line from the tank, where it runs along the frame. Look for a smaller metal line running together with that supply line. That would be the return line. The metal line would have a rubber line clamped onto it forward of the front control arm, and that line pushes onto the fuel pump. Someone might have removed that rubber line, or even a section of the metal line, or pinched it off, who knows? Having said that, you can use the 2 or 3 line pump. If you use the 3 line, just block off the return at the pump with a cap and clamp.

I'm guessing they just pinched off the return line. I'll crawl under it and look for the return line. Thanks for the info.
