I'll also need adapters for the k member where the engine mounts. There are a lot of factors to consider. I'll have to set it in and see what my options are. Would be nice if I could put the Buick motor in and modernize it. Like install fuel Injection. Send me more ideas. Thanks!

Wouldn't that cross member interfere with the existing k member in my camaro? Is there any documentation available for the installation? Thank you.

I am not sure if the cross-member would interfere with the stock one or not you would have to mock it up and see if the engine mounts are forward, rear, or at the same general location as the chevy engine. The first thing I would do is drop the engine in and have a look to see if you can get away with just modifying the stock engien mount setup or if it is way off. Not sure if the cross-member came with paperwork I bought them a LONG time ago.

What trans was in the car originally? If it were me I would drop the engine and trans in, make a driveshaft work and ensure the driveline and engine angles are good and then fab the engine mounts once you get it where it needs to be.

A number of years ago, I installed a Buick 350 in a 1977 Camaro. At that same time, we installed a Buick 350 into an early 80's Oldsmobile Cutlass. We used TH350s in both of them. I was able to use the existing drive shaft on the Camaro and the Cutlass. The Oldsmobile had a v6 in it so the v8 mount worked in it. The Camaro Engine to crossmember saddles where, of course, different, so we had to mount the Buick ones on the crossmember. Everything worked well except that we could of mounted the engine back further in the Camaro. I'm hoping not to have that problem again. I still have the Buick 350 and TH350 that I had in the Oldsmobile. It's been sitting in a garage for a number of years. I need a carb for it. Hopefully that engine will work.

Isn't the Nova sub-frame the same as the Camaro's sub-frame from '67 to '69 then again the same from '70 to '81?

Now, isn't a late 70s Skylarks that came with a sbb 350 basically the same car as a Nova?

Seems like frame pads and motor mounts for one of those Skylarks would solve all of your conversion problems?

Smokey15 So old that I use AARP bolts.

Novas are rear steer. The subframe is the same as a first generation ('67-'69) Camaro.

Is that the same as the late 70s Skylarks?
    What year Novas?
Were Novas all the same subframe from '66 to '79, is that what you're trying to say?(I'm asking because I don't know for sure plus your post was VERY vague)

I know that the pads from a 70's Apollo will work. It's just the placement and re-drilling on the k member that will take time. Clearance won't be much of an issue since the last owner removed the AC box. :(

Sorry I was so VERY vague. To Clara Fy: Novas were rear steer and shared the same subframe as '67 thru '69 Camaro until '75. After that they started sharing the same front steeer subframe as '70 thru '81 Camaros.

Thanks for clarifying, I thought they shared both frames but wasn't sure when they changed to the later one. Sorry for the caps, probably not needed in this case after rethinking it, the post was just plain vague not in the very area.:p
