Here is a video of my 350 that I just got running after a rebuild.

Stats are Std. Bore 350 with modified oiling passages in the block and timing cover, 3.0l pistons putting it a shade under 9.5:1 compression. Std volume oil pump with a TA pressure adjuster. Crower 50259 Level 4 cam, Cam saver lifters, Ported heads, TA Stage 1 intake and a 800CFM q-Jet with a Quadrajet Performance EZ kit that I rebuilt. HEI ignition. Exhaust is Doug's full length headers and 2.25" (for now) exhaust with turbo mufflers. Trans is a turbo 350 trans and a advertised 2900 stall converter. Still have to get the rear end rebuilt with 3.42's and some tuning to do but I am happy with it thus far. It has been a nice father son project this winter.

We need the snow to melt and the mud to dry up before it goes any further out of the shop. Kinda nervous if the cam is to big but is sure sounds nice!

    alec296 i need another buick

Jay micheal mentioned his 70 8.2 3.42 auburn carrier may be available. Not sure what his name is on here . He runs 12 second 350.
Unless you polished chambers or pistons ended up more the .090 below deck, you should have 9.65 compression.
Get a distributer recurve kit and bring the timing in sooner, was the converter small block specific ? I would not say cam is too big.
What kind of flow did you get on heads, what porting did you do.?

The heads were on a motor that I got for cheap, $250 plus a TH350 core The motor came with the intake, heads and headers, It had low oil pressure is what I was told. Looked like the rods and mains were sketchy, likely from the previous machine work to that motor. I used my original block and crank that were in my car. Rods came in at .0015 -.0002 and the mains a little more on the untouched crank.

If I hadn't found the cheap parts I would still be thinkimg of building one of my 455's some day.

Chambers were polished and had 60 cc of volume, pistons were down .080, thats fine I dont want to buy expensive gas.

I have a spare rear end, posi and 3:42's that I have to get together and swap.

Should be fun once i get it dialed in.
