you'll want the 455 brackets and pulleys; my '74 455 went in without a hitch. Even though the brackets may look a little different, like the power steering bracket for instance, I found that the Riviera brackets had no problem going into my '70 Skylark. Same for the fan shroud- you'll want the correct diamter fan shroud, my 350 unit would not work. the alternator bracket, I beleive, is a 455 only part, but can still be had NOS I think, for around 35 bucks. You'll need motor mount frame pads for the 455, the 350's won't work.

if you do a quick search on the subject of a 350 to 455 swap in a '70 to 72 A body, you'll find so many threads devoted to the topic you'll most likely find every answer you need without even having to ask. it's a very common and fairly straight forward swap.

If possible, I'd recommend taking the whole nose off the car. When I did mine, it was a quick job at first- I needed to get to work on Monday and I started Saturday afternoon:laugh: But I wish I'd taken the front off the car to clean, de-grease, de-rust, and re-paint everything. It was so much harder and frustrating to do it later on with the engine in place. Nothing like the chance to do a little extra clean up with the engine out of the way.

Don't know much about the 225 brackets, myself. I do know a '73 Riviera's bracket works, no trouble, as does a '73 Riv fan shroud.

Is the ps pump sitting too low in your Skylark?
